Let know Sunak know there really is people who want an election.

Has there ever been a petion on that site that didn't just get a boiler plate "We discussed it and No" equivalent response?
- If signing petitions achieved anything, they wouldn't let us do it.

  I already answered this one.
- Personally, it's less about actually expecting an election to be called as a result of the petition and more about publicly announcing our discontent at the current government. The media must address it eventually, and the opposition will use it against them.
  
  Have you not seen the opinion polls lately? The government are around 20 points behind and have been for some time.
  
  It's already fairly obvious that people are unhappy with the government.
  
  There are independent candidates who are getting more votes for them in local elections than the Tory candidate. They knew people don't like them, they don't care.
- No one expects a result from this. What is all about is, stopping the BS that Sunak spouts, when he states that no one wants an election. Get a million signatures on that petition, and he becomes a fish in a barrel.
  
  Do you take everything people say literally?
- They will simply ignore it, as usual. The point that says "Parliament will consider this for a debate" is just a handful of MPs in a small room, and regardless what Labour MPs will do there, the Tories will simply vote it discussed and dismissed.
He knows. They all know. None of them care.
- Yeah, we would’ve got one after the Liz Truss situation if they had any intention of calling an early GE.
Pfft no, there's a lot more wrecking to do, to make it all the harder for Labour to fix.
Pointless.

There's going to be an election next year anyway and it's not going to be earlier.
- Don't know why you're being downvoted - Sunak and the Conservatives will not concede until they have to. As much as I'm desperate for change as soon as possible, a petition will do nothing to bring that about sooner than expected.
  
  Because unless you're a hardcore Labour supporter who likes telling everyone how much you hate the Tories all the time, you get downvoted.
