How do you mention a user on Lemmy?
Is there an equivalent to doing /u/user in The Bad Place, to notify and summon someone?

Short answer: No.
tl;dr answer: There's no tagging function in place unless you manually tag them using markdown, and that still wouldn't notify them. That would be a bandaid solution at best. It's been submitted as an issue, though.
I might be misunderstanding something, but you are talking about a tag (same as a private note over mastodon or a profile note in discord)

Add the ability to tag users, so a title i give him will be next to his name.
What this user is asking is if you can write someone's name on a post and for that petson to receive a notification that they have been mentioned.
I completely understand what was said - that is not the problem. I'm well aware.

Which is strange because there seems to be support for notifications of a mention? Jerboa even has a section for it, but no one has mentioned me yet so I don't know if it works.
