What actors/actresses make you immediately not want to make a movie/show?
For me it's The Rock and Chris Pratt.
Guardians of the Galaxy was great but I just wish he would stop playing starlord in every other role he's in!
Charlie Hunnam is not good, has a silly face, and cannot deliver lines.

Will Smith and Jared Leto for sure (including 2049, which was a disgrace compared to the masterpiece that is the original, despite me loving Arrival, Dune Part I and Sicario).
I also cannot stand anyone meant to appeal only to Americans, like Kevin Hart, Chevy Chase, Queen Latifah and all that stuff. Used to like Tom Hanks in the 1990s, but after that he became part of the latter group for me.
If you are ever going to try again watching a The Rock movie (I don't mind him at all, although not being calling me to watch a movie), please make it Hercules: that movie genuinely surprised me.

Collin Farrel and Kristin Stewart.
They're just not good actors. They've been in a couple good movies, but those movies succeed despite, not because of them.
I disagree heavily with Collin Farrell! He sucks when he's in a big budget movie but he's fantastic when he does his little art films.

The rule I've always gone with is that if the average person knows the movie exists he probably sucks and otherwise he's fantastic.
I always had this impression that Colin Farrell was just a pretty boy with no acting talent. But then I saw him in Banshees of Inisherin and my mind was blown. He was amazing - his performance absolutely gutted me. If you're willing to give him a try, you should watch that movie.
Til Schweiger and Kristen Stewart, they each know exactly one facial expression.

Man’s not a bad actor, but he’s often cast in roles he has no earthly business being in.
Honestly, 7/10 of his castings are way off.
His acting is hammy, but he does that on purpose. His philosophy on acting is the method thing is good but it isn't an artistic performance. He puts his personality on the character.

You beat me to it. I like(d) him in his early career, then it got to the point where pretty much everything I saw that had him in it sucked, so if he was in a movie, it was a sign to me to skip it. I have had a bit of a change of heart in some of his latest stuff, I'll at least consider watching it if there's a modicum of evidence that there are redeeming qualities to the movie overall.
The other aspect of it is that I used to think he was good looking when he was young, and then sometime in the late 90s or early 2000s he just seemed to turn physically repulsive to me. Part of it is his hair. I think if he ever got a good hair cut or played a part that involved wearing a decent hair piece, it might not be so bad.
Leaving Las Vegas is genuinely devastating and that was his 90s peak.
He does recapture some of that magic in a recent one called Pig but that film benefited from a bait and switch marketing where they implied it would be like John Wick but was actually completely different.
Adam Sandler
it was the same for me about Sandler until I saw Uncut Gems, finally he showed that he can act.
The reason he's good in Uncut Gems (and Punch Drunk Love) is that there is something genuinely frightening in how unhinged he seems when he is acting.
He can act but that movie was beyond stupid. I'm convinced the only reason it did well with critics is exactly what you said - they were surprised he could actually act.
He just chooses not to. Not sure that's any better.

His movies are mostly bad, I think you and I might agree on that.
But the other aspect of it is that a lot of the people I knew who liked his early movies were just really shitty humans. So by association, I think that affected how I saw his movies. Just seemed like a magnet for terrible people and it was hard to separate those two things for me. Not to mention, the movies themselves were objectively somewhere between awful and just not that great, so I didn't feel like I was missing out much.
Oh, and I got "dragged" to that movie I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry IN THE THEATER. And that reasserted everything I already knew to be true about Adam Sandler movies.

I absolutely loved him in Parks and Rec. He was always my favourite character. But that's probably because he was just playing himself.

Leonardo DiCaprio. I can never believe he is the character I always see an actor trying to portrait a character. Like with other actores I can believe I am seeing something that happened. With DiCaprio I'm always aware that I'm watching an actor doing a performance.
I don't know if that makes a lot of sense. But it's one of the few "good" actor that makes me feel this way.

For the dumbest reasons, I can't enjoy Gal Gadot. Her acting is repellent to me for some reason. Yes, she's absolutely gorgeous but the acting ain't great. I also didn't enjoy Heather Graham's acting but then I watched her in Scrubs and the role was just perfect. I hated The Rock's acting as well, but my ex had a crush on him so we watched so many of his movies. Almost all of them shite.

Kevin Spacey has been great or straight up magnificent consistently, lol, is it the moral aspect that disturbs you? I firmly believe (and evidence keeps piling up!) that most Hollywood actresses were couch casted, many boys were touched and the cycle repeats. The entire entertainment industry is compromised and has been for years (check out who taught Diddy his tricks). Nvm the "Hollywood accounting" too, money laundering and all of that.
Basically, if you're enjoying American media, odds are it was made by someone who's gonna go straight to Hell, no "Go" no 200 bucks, and bigger odds than whoever is making money out of your purchase/rental is going to an even lower circle, lol. Just pirate it and you take away your contribution to amorality, right?

After he got booted for the whole thing he started making videos on his YouTube channel telling the world that he would come for them and that they would regret hurting him while in character as a villain from projects he's worked in in the past.
He's the only actor I know of that knows exactly why people don't want to see him and continues to play into that specifically for some reason...

I had an internal laugh to myself in the Wonder Woman movie when the Amazons had an Israeli accent. I guess it was easier to train everyone else to mimic her accent than it was for her to not let it slip.

lol dude, I watched Baywatch, San Andreas, Rampage, SkyScraper, Jumanji and Central Intelligence from what I remember with my ex. I swear to God those movies get blurred in my mind due to his "samey" character/acting.
I think some of the movies you could argue that aren't shite of the Rock's are Rundown, Jumanji, Moana, and maybe some of the Fast and Furious movies. Although, I never really watched those (I've only see the first) but other people seem to enjoy them.

I renamed my cat because of this guy. I don't really like to change animals names from what it was at the shelter in case they're used to it, and I have a cat named Mel, who I suspect was named for him because there was another nearby cat in the shelter he came from named "Gibson".

Saw him in real life once... he yelled "shut your mouths" to his fans chanting for him to come outside. His whole appearance that day and how he treated those around him has forever made me dislike him.

As for Bill Hader. He's the best of a bad bunch, and he's okay, but being one of the better SNL alums is a very very low bar to cross.
And I mean, yeah...I should definitely clarify that I'm not talking about classic SNL (Eddie Murphy, Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, etc...) That generation made great films after their careers at SNL ended.

Agree with the Awkwafina sentiment, I think for me it's that she got famous for her music/comedy (not sure which had the most impact in her career) then slipped into acting like Kevin Hart and other comedians tend to do.
Not that it shouldn't be done, but I feel like she hasn't really proven herself on screen. Also, the Awkwafina moniker is a bit detrimental if being taken seriously on stage is her goal.

I’m a huge fan of the original Mission Impossible TV series from the 60’s and 70’s. I’ve watched the entire series a few times now. I can’t stand what Cruise did to the franchise, especially since he basically plays the same thrill seeking character in all his recent movies.

That movie changed my mind on Jon Bernthal, he was so good in it. I had only seen him in the first season of Walking Dead and thought he was pretty bad. I think most of that was just the show though, the dialogue was terrible.

Try Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. I love Hugh in that movie and I’m not really a Hugh Grant guy either.

I have that face thing with Patrick Swayze and Meryl Streep. And the girl from Dirty Dancing. I am working on getting over Jennifer Lawrence's face. All these people are surely somewhat good actors but there is something about their faces that I cannot stand and it makes it impossible for me to focus on the plot. I just made it through Silver Linings Playbook today, finally, it was hard but I am glad I managed, Lawrence did a good job and I forgot about her face for almost 30% of the time. One day I will manage to watch more than 15 minutes of Dirty Dancing.
