The suit is not about peaceful protest. It does not impact anyone's Section 2 rights.
The suit is about harassment, intimidation, torture, air pollution, racism, sexism, intolerance, shutting down businesses and putting people out of work for weeks, and other criminal activities that are not protected by Section 2.
No one gave a fuck about these idiots and their tantrum until they started committing crimes.
They fucked around and they are now finding out. That's what they always say, isn't it?
They came to Ottawa to commit their crimes they should be tried in Ottawa. Want to be tried in Upper Rubber Boot, Alberskatchetoba? Commit your crimes there.
The thing that I find the most shocking about these people is that they actually believed that they could move into downtown Ottawa and threaten, harass, intimidate, and torture the residents and that there was nothing that anyone could do about it. You're a few hundred people with a few dozen really hardcore and you're taking on a country, with a standing army, with tanks and APCs and helicopters, and engineers with heavy wreckers, and tens of thousands of police officers. They're going to ask you to leave, they're going to tell you to leave, and then you're going to to be forced to leave. That it was done with no major injuries or deaths is a testament to just how much care was given to their rights and their safety despite the fact that they had proven themselves to be hateful, intolerant human garbage who had convinced themselves that everyone who lives in Ottawa is fair game in their tantrumist effort to get their own way.
As Canada has become more and more progressive the right is having to move further and further right to find enough votes to have a chance. I mean...they could come up with policies that the majority of Canadians would vote for but that doesn't seem to have crossed their minds.
