v0.4.19: Multiple accounts!
You can now have multiple accounts at once!
Click the main menu (on the circle on the top right), and hit "switch accounts" (it'll say "Login" if you have no accounts). You'll be able to add accounts and switch between them on the sidebar or through that page.

when connection is lost I got
404 It's likely that this community hasn't been federated (nobody on your instance has subscribed to it yet.)
This is because there's no easy way to tell what the error is because of Lemmy's terrible js client
update: error messages are a lot more useful now
