The US is quietly arming Taiwan to the teeth
America is using its own money to send weapons to a place it officially doesn't recognise.
Good. I have no desire for more war. However, China has made it clear they consider Taiwan to be part of their territory. Taiwan is an important country for the rest of the world as a great many of the world's computer chips are made there. This is a vital supply that the rest of the world does not want China to control. If Taiwan is defenseless, if China can conquer them easily and quickly, they are much more likely to do it. If Taiwan has sharp teeth, if conquering Taiwan would mean a bloody war, China is more likely to leave them alone. So if a few billion dollars worth of missiles helps keep Taiwan independent, I think it's money well spent.

"quietly" as without a fanfare. It is primarily meant to be a deterrent, and it is not a good deterrent if the enemy doesn't know about it.
Given that they have a big powerful neighbour that has repeatedly and explicitly threatened to invade them, I don't see a problem here.
Give them more if you ask me. Lived there, met the love of my life there. Some of my best memories of my life are in Taiwan and it’s a country I cherish and implore everyone to visit at least once 🇹🇼 🥰

Arming to the teeth seems like a pretty inflammatory headline. I'm skeptical of a story that starts with that.
They should arm them to the taint, but blur it
