"Our cancer-killing pill is like a snowstorm that closes a key airline hub, shutting down all flights in and out only in planes carrying cancer cells," says the professor who has been developing the new drug over the past 20 years.
Call me beyond sceptical but this will probably turn out just as many of the trials before it that had no viable results once out of in vitro phase - because pharmaceutical industry (which is probably the most corrupt industry in the world) would not allow (at least at this time) a drug that can singlehandedly wipe out enormous chunk of their earnings.
I have Crohn's, you have no idea how many times I've read about "breakthrough" and "miracle" drugs that will "cure" Crohn's that end up not viable in double blind studies.
Mhm, you might be right. But imo it's nice to hear about any kind of progress even if it might end up not working because at the end of the day it's one step closer to finding a cure and ofc that would be amazing.
Also sorry to hear you have Crohn's btw. I don't have it but ik someone who does and I know it's a real pain for eating :(.
Agree, progress is nice. But, drugs for diseases we don't know how to cure yet are based on presumptions what might cause the disease and they have all been wrong so far (regarding cancer and Crohn's).
Thank you. I had my fair share of trouble when I was younger, but now I'm OK. Hope your friend gets better, too!
That's very unfortunate. For most of us, misleading clickbait is a mild inconvenience. For you, its real disappointment.
You should really implement a strict policy of not clicking clickbait titles. While this would remove your ability to read 75% of news, it would probably help a lot in the sanity dept.
I generally don't click it myself, and it does help. The algorithm will slowly pick up that you are uninterested in them.
