YouTube will test built-in tool to convert horizontal videos into Shorts

YouTube today announced a number of new Shorts features, but the most promising one for Creators is a recomposition tool to convert regular videos into vertical content.

Anyone else remember the campaign to not film vertical videos?
- I remember it being a huge thing on r/cinematography and r/praisethecameraman
They wont be seen again.
Honestly I'm not a fan of this move. Shorts is a bad format in general, and seeing more content being converted to this format doesn't bode well for the long run.
