Well fuck
I use quite a few simple apps, especially Calendar and Gallery, and I haven't found alternatives that I am satisfied with. I can't wait to use a Linux phone at this point.
Gallery there is aves libre that did the trick for me, but calendar yeah its a real bummer

Yeah simple calendar worked alright, I didn't look at simple gallery but I again stand by aves libre although I think its only available through fdroid
