What kind of spider is this?
This big guy has been on my back porch for 6 months, in Connecticut. Please help me identify him!

Thank you! I don't know much about spiders but any idea how to narrow down to the genus?
Looks like Araneus diadematus to me. They have a white cross on their abdomen like the one on your photo. Cool spiders (they’re all cool :)
Yep, definitly Araneus diadematus. Very common and great to have around your house.
They also have quite a broad range of colours.
