That's right folks the year is drawing to a close so it's time to nominate and vote for your 2023 Hexies! These are the Hexbears you think exemplify what it means to be a real Hexbear. Here's how it works:
Pick from the below categories
Nominate someone for that category by tagging them
If you are nominated respond to the nomination to accept it
Most upbeared accepted nomination in each category wins!
What do you win? The esteem of your fellow Hexbearian comrades of course. What more could you want?
The categories for this year's 2023 Hexie awards are:
Most Influential Hexbear of 2023
Most likely to be called a tankie offline
Best in Community Engagement
This year we have a special bonus category to commemorate the year we federated;
Best non local user
Alright comrades that's it from me, be sure and do your democratic duty and for your 2023 Hexie winners and congrats in advance to the winners of this highly coveted and prestigious award!
1 @SeventyTwoTrillion@hexbear.net and all of the regular contributors to the news megathread for making it into an international hub of information exchange and learning. Never did I ever think that the current iteration we see today would've stemmed from the first war Containment thread during those confusing and anxious days. Additionally i want to show my appreciation towards @Awoo@hexbear.net, and @kristina@hexbear.net, for being positive figures of hexbear in both their work, posting, and presence. You both, alongside all the many other people here, make the site a pleasant and enjoyable island in the morass that is the general internet.
2 @GarbageShoot@hexbear.net has come so far in the past year I'm more than confident that if we ever met IRL he would radiate Stalinium.
3 the mods of the fake news comm. For the few times you've gotten me, you suck. . I also want to shout out retired poster @UlyssesT@hexbear.net for leading his own daily one-man crusade across hexbear and the wider federal network. You are gone but not forgotten.
4 the only person that consistently comes to mind for me is @Aru@lemmygrad.ml, for consistently participating in the news mega and assisting in giving us English speakers a glimpse into the Arabic world in a manner only a native speaker can. This of course extends to all our other multi-lingual friends and comrades here who take their ernest time to help us learn more about the world beyond our screens.
That's very sweet of you, though I would never in a million years compare myself to our bank-robbing uncle [or his metal deposits, as the case may be].
Of course, I agree with all your other comments, though I don't remember who Aru is unless they were the one who made the Arabic lesson posts (which I thought were cool the couple of times I read them).
Ah Aru is Rania Rudhan, I don't know how lemmygrad let's you have different screen names to account names but it's neat for letting people choose names other than what isn't already taken up in the book of names
