You still can't buy byd cars outside China can you? Or do they export to some places?
- They've been available in several European countries since the end of 2022 or so.
- Hoping for an estate model
- They were advertising in the Mexico City Airport yesterday when I was there.
  
  They have display models in malls in Mexico. The cars honestly feel really well put together for their price.
- Quite a few here in Australia.
- They’re everywhere in New Zealand.
- They're advertising on TV in the UK, so guessing they're at least at preorder stage.
- They manufacture and sell the buses in Canada... There are BYD buses in operation in at least Toronto, Victoria, Longeuil, St. Albert and Grand Prairie (and probably more by now). https://en.byd.com/news/byd-opens-first-canadian-bus-assembly-plant/ If you're in Montreal, there's a decent chance you'll see BYD E6 taxis.
  There's been rumors of the cars being prepped for general sale in Canada.... but I can't find any proof of that right now.

Going from bad to worse in terms of privacy.

I didn't realize China had already copied Tesla's product. Absolute lol at M*** for heavily manufacturing there (not just parts, but everything). Copy, paste, rename... BYD.
- Funny because BYD started in 2003 and put out its first car in 2008 same as Tesla.
  
  I don't mean to give all credit to Tesla, for the success of BYD. But let's not pretend that many Chinese companies haven't earned the reputation for (or even specialized in) "quickly learning" and "producing similar work" from competitors. Tesla still entered the country enthusiastically (sold hard-fought knowledge for short term gain), and are already losing their grip. Best of luck to anyone creating affordable EVs.
