Anyone know a way to get adfree youtube on ios in an app?

I know i can use adblock in safari but the problem is with safari you can only watch 720p

Not a standalone app but try piped
- It has sponsorblock too. This is the simplest solution.

Vinegar is a safari extension that gives you premium’s features. I’m almost certain it can do at least 1080 if not higher.
- vinegar is a great option for safari. for a YouTube app experience uyou+ and side loading is the way to go.

But also… it’s Brave which I’m learning is not the most ethical choice.

  Firefox on iOS is reskinned safari. Normal Firefox extensions don’t work.
- As someone very uninformed about Brave, what is unethical about it?

If you're willing to go through the pain of sideloading on iOS and you're ok with giving a random app your Google account, uYou+ is pretty good.

Yattee
Add https://r.yattee.stream/manifest-invidious-piped.json to your locations manifest.
- This is the way! I’m using it too with a piped instance. Also configured the RSS feed to a Slack channel with yattee://watch?v={videoId} which works awesome. When I press the link, when a new video is posted, it opens in Yattee. Basically I have a privacy focused YouTube with no ads and with subscriptions.
- This is what I very much tried. Is the best option out there, but unfortunately the “discover” of new content is really lacking compared to YouTube’s algorithm.
  
  Yep, only real way to feed you stuff you’d like is to monitor stuff you like.

use sideloadly https://sideloadly.io/ and download the ipa from here: https://github.com/arichorn/uYouPlusExtra once you set it up all you need is to literally open sideloadly once a week on your pc/mac and hit refresh while the iphone/ipad is connected to the same wifi. apple doesnt let you add apps for longer than week unless you pay to be a developer so a 30second job to refresh the app and ur done.

I use Yattee. It should be on the app store. Requires a bit of setup, but works great.

Sideload or jailbreak depending on device

some instances allow to register and follow channels

There are ways to sideload apps on iOS but I think you need a Macbook to do so, I had a iPhone once because I got it for free and I will never touch one of those ever again!

  Interesting, seems like there is a Linux app now too, well still not a fan of externak devices just to sideload but luckily the EU will improve that with the Digital markets act I guess

Been using VideoLite a lot, there’s a single ad that plays as you open it, and then you’re set. Optionally you can pay £1.59 every three months and skip that initial ad.

Other than jailbreak I don't really know I haven't use IOS in years

I just bought YouTube premium in turkey for like 1€ a month. Is working fine for over a year now. I obviously created another Google account for that

  I know this is /c/piracy but I feel YT Premium has its benefits. You get the music service as well. Spotify is better, yes, but YT Music is good enough and the family can have an ad free YouTube experience. My 5 y/o can watch cartoons without getting ads in his face.
