I use all of these except ScrollLock.
What about the CapsLock key? Windows menu key?
Caps lock is great for rebinding to Ctrl
I also use it for Esc which is really convenient for Vim
I work in an architecture firm, and whenever we put text on the plans, it's always in ALL CAPS. It's a niche use-case, but Caps Lock has saved my pinkie finger from getting sore holding down shift for hours a day
Yeah that's a common one. If you're into mechanical keyboards, there are a lot of keycap sets that offer an alternative Control key for the CapsLock position.
Personally I rebind it to Super (Winkey). I have a couple of keyboards without Windows keys, so I can still have a Super key and don't miss out on some handy shortcuts.
Capslock is great for writing SQL.
I write a ton of SQL. I never use my CapsLock key.
SQL doesn't need to be upper case, in fact I loathe upper case SQL.
HOW DO YOU YELL WITHOUT CAPSLOCK?
Capslock is mandatory. Acronyms, report writing with key words, and programming all make heavy use of fully capitalized words.
I write SQL with all the keywords capitalized, and just hold shift for that. A lot of developers I work with remap the caps lock key to something useful.
