Edit : Yes there are workarounds using Revanced. Check the comments for some awesome help on how to do this if you wish! Just know, in the future it will most likely end up being patched annoyingly and I therefore recommend looking forward to the future with us here.

I've had some time to try different clients, Jerboa in List menu mode, Wefwef.app, and Liftoff are all very strong main contenders, I expect to see Boost for Lemmy at the forefront shortly as well.
I moved from Jerboa to wefwef because Jerboa couldn't open certain instances that were not on Lemmy's newest version.
I understand, I see it as if new devs and players are coming into the forefront and it's good for overall development. I feel as if all these Lemmy clients are rather bleeding edge or brand new, and once we see some of the rougher bugs taken out, Jerboa might make a comeback. I have to say though, I love Wefwef myself and I hope it's put into an apk for people eventually, in some cases I think native apps can work better than a web browser applet, but I guess I don't know much about programming honestly either.
Agreed! I also believe we need to push through these toothing pains so that Lemmy can over time become a real contender and house more communities that were previously on Reddit.
