Franka and Miez are two completely different cats in behaviour and taste but learned to respect each other
My mom's cat Franka (standard issue cat, born 2008 to a wild feral cat (edit: we have actual wild cats in Europe) in Monte de Vannes, France) spends most of her time under blankets and only likes very little attention. My cat Miez (maine coon mix, born 2013 on a German farm near the French border) is very open and trusting. They sometimes meet when I or my parents are on vacation or as now I'm visiting my parents. For years they feared each other very deeply, but as they got older and met more frequently they got more friendly.
Yeah just two years ago this very situation would have ended in them both hissing at each other. Thankfully Franka learned that she's the boss, even when Miez is around. Miez usually loves being the boss (even towards her brother), so she learned a lot as well.
Side note: You're quite the Miez fan, aren't you? I'm glad other people can really enjoy the stories I share.
Guilty as charged 😛. I've been missing a dear cat friend who's no longer with me and my current living situation isn't very good for getting another cat. So, I'm really enjoying the c/cats, and Miez is definitely one of my favourites. I think she's gorgeous, you've captured some unique and endearing behaviours of hers, you seem like a cat's dream cat owner, and you post great content. I was really wowed by the purrkour - both what you had done and Miez jumping across those beams at ~10 years old. From what I know, 10 is considered a 'senior' cat in the veterinary world, so she seems wonderfully healthy - probably from a great environment :)
