Donald Trump has appealed his $454 million New York civil fraud judgment, challenging a judge’s finding that he lied about his wealth as he grew the real estate empire that launched him to stardom and the presidency.
But, he didn't post a bond, so he still owes the court.
Posting a bond will stay the distribution action during appeal, not posting a bond will allow the 30 day collection and distribution to proceed during appeal, non-bond appeals are token gestures at best. From interview questions about the judgement, it's reactions and answers are consistent with it's diaper changers and lawyers telling it they won the case and are probably submitting documents to the court without it knowing the details.
