Switch emulator creator settles Nintendo lawsuit for $2.4m
Yuzu creator Tropic Haze must no longer offer the…
This is some bullshit. Nintendo is claiming because they use prod.keys, it's only purpose is piracy. Yuzu does not include the keys and people that own the games own the key.
By using these keys to decrypt the games they are circumventing anti-piracy measures which is already illegal in a lot of countries. Even if no actual piracy was involved, what they are doing with the prod.keys almost guarantees them a loss in court in all of the EU and North America.
The bullies won.
Because they have money, and the independents don't. And they sure fucking know it.
Fuck Nintendo, never give them a cent.
Was Yuzu open source?
Yep
At least the source is out there then
How big or well funded is Tropic Haze?
They have the order to stop the development now.
They already deleted the repos.
I'm not a leach (I think some people call them attorneys or lawyers), but if they stopped development, removed the repos and all the crap Nintendo got away with, why do they have to pay? Am I missing something? Again, I've no idea how that shit works, so I'm asking out of genuine sheer ignorance. And also, can't they just move all their shit over to an "arrrr" paradise and tell Nintendo of the US of A to go fuck themselves and all of their family and pets together at the same time?
Small enough this probably ends them
It seems that it does, in fact, end them.
Any clean mirrors of the emulators from before it went down ?
