do you say it as kay-bin or k'bin?

  • Kay-bin seems like the only correct way. Cabin or K'bin just feels wrong for no particular reason. The name honestly just makes me think of KDE.

  • I say kay-bin, because it kind of looks like it should sound like that, imo.

K'bin feels like I'm just trying to make the word as short as possible.

Cabin or Ki-bin both feel like I'm adding new letters just because. To me, it would be like calling reddit "reddita" or "reedit".

  • In spanish you are likely to default to k'bin (cabin).
Letter K pronunciation varies across the globe, so I think everyone will have variations of it.

  • Kay-bin.

It reminds me of the property manager at my first apartment, back in 1990. She spelled her name "K'ren", and I assumed it was pronounced either Karen, or kuh-Ren. Nope. It was "KAAAAYYY-WRREE-NNN", three syllables in her very southern accent. The stress was on both of the first two syllables. 😂️
