Conan's episode made me panic a little if I'm being honest, lol. It was funny (and a bit gross) but I think he also kind of blew up the format a little. He didn't really give Sean much of an interview, he seemed very focused on the spectacle part maybe.
That's a good observation. Admittedly, I thought that episode was funny and memorable but retrospectively, I do agree that he de-railed the whole interview format and that is ashame. Especially since Conan even said that Sean is a great interviewer
To be fair, he wouldn’t be the first comedian to go on a talk show and go off the rails. That’s been happening on talk shows for decades. Andy Kaufman, Will Ferrell, etc.
Yeah, honestly, I didn't enjoy the episode all that much. I mean, it was a funny bit, but the whole thing was a bit, and Conan was playing a character. What I enjoy the most about Hot Ones is that Sean is such a good interviewer that I feel I get more insight into the guest than I get with most shows. In this one, I felt like I got zero insight into Conan other than further evidence that he'll do anything for a bit.
