Study: Carbon offsets aren’t doing their job, overstate impact

Whaaaat? Doing nothing about a problem but exchanging money won't stop climate change?!?

Carbon offsets are so clearly a scam for companies to make net zero claims while changing nothing about their industry. And then when a 10 year special investigation that wasted millions of dollars uncovers the truth about carbon offsets, companies can just say "Oops! See, we were fooled by those scammers too!" and by then they'll have probably found their next scapegoat.
