Will it be possible to see comment and post downvotes on the app?
So far, it seems that out of all the various Lemmy apps, Jerboa is the only one that actually shows downvote counts. All the other apps have it removed or abstracted into a percentage the way reddit handled it. It's very annoying. Will Sync have an option to see downvote counts for comments and posts?
So it does. This app also has a very slick UI that looks great, though I'm not a fan of the swipe gestures for everything model, and it appears to be impossible to go to someone's profile from a comment, block the person, get the permalink for the comment, select text, or anything else the other apps can do. Gonna poke around in the settings and see if there's something I'm missing here, but so far it's missing a few too many features to be worth it, imo. Thanks for the suggestion though, always good to try new Lemmy apps.
Hey there, main dev of Thunder popping in! While Thunder was primarily focused on swipe gestures at the beginning stages, additional support for button equivalents and much more are being added in the next general release
The following things are currently out as a pre-release/nightly and will hopefully reach general release in the upcoming days:
Comment button actions in case you’re not a fan of swipe gestures
Accessing a user’s profile can be done by tapping on their name
Sharing a link to a comment will be available by long pressing on a comment
You can copy the text of a full comment by long pressing on a comment
Unfortunately, blocking a user and selectively copying text (copying parts of it) is not yet available, but are existing things that will likely come in the future!
If you’d like, you can check out the latest nightly version here to take a look at the features I mentioned! (nightly version)
I would also like to note that Thunder is a completely community driven project by me and other individuals who develop the app on our spare time! As such, we may not be able to deliver features nearly as fast as others but we do it out of passion for the project! 😅
I actually did find and install the nightly version not long after making that comment. I still have it installed on my phone even now. I'm very satisfied with it so far, and have set github to notify me about new releases on the repo. Thanks for the reply.
No worries! If you ever find yourself missing a feature, feel free to check GitHub to see if that issue is mentioned and comment or vote on that so that it gets more visibility. If its not yet in GitHub, then creating a new issue there will help us track it down when we do eventually get to it!
