That’s nothing new, but also a shitty example of going too far.
Back when newspapers had integrity there was still the “advertorial” - but it was verboten or at least guaranteed to really piss off the editorial staff - to use the same typeface or design guidelines as the editorial portion of the paper. Plus the mandatory disclaimer of “Advertisement” where here you see “Sponsored by…” (B&H really?).
This is an example of something that’s been allowed for a long time, but also breaks a lot of unwritten rules in stone regarding separating church and state (money and news) for the reader. All of them, really, except the sponsor tag (but they also used editorial style on that).
