I've been considering getting a mini PC for my living room, basically only to watch online videos without ads or watch locally stored videos.

Since I have a Steam deck available that I already often dock to my screen for gaming, could I use it instead of buying a new computer?

My main concern is the impact this would have on the battery if it's plugged in for long periods of time, does it bypass the battery when it's plugged in and the battery is full ? Will other components be impacted?

If so, which ones? I am looking to game and talk to friends over discord on my Steam Deck. No FPS, more bullet hells, ARPGs, etc. Thank you!!

Please mention whether you're on stable, beta, or a different update channel. There's a good chance most bugs on the stable update channel have been fixed already, so anyone on the beta update can let people know if the bug they're facing is already fixed.

I was wondering how much you are using your Steam Deck? And did the games you play on it change since you bought it?

I find that I used it a lot when I first got it, but my usage has gone down in the mean time. That's mostly because I play games that are not a great fit for the Steam Deck (strategy, building, etc.) and I prefer to play those on my PC.

Sorry this post is a week late, been busy with real life stuff.

I'm interested in hearing both about if you still use the default carrying case that comes with the deck, and if you use any kind of protective clip-on case such as the Killswitch, JSAUX Modcase, or other.

What controller are you using with the Deck?

My pick after searching around is the 8BitDo Ultimate C (link) which is the cheaper version of the ultimate with no dock. So far, it's been working well for me. I just had to restart the Deck the first time after the pairing, since then, it recognize the device all the time.

I mean old like Sega Rally Revo. This is not my video, but it sums up my experience playing in deck. The graphics doesn't feel too old when compared to today's games and I'm not sure why but I always get above 100fps even i limit deck settings to 60.

I post his as a way to gather some information an suggestions.

Basically i already have Yuzu installed through emudeck and for now it still works. So, will emudeck unistall/disable yuzu automatically? Should i disable Emudeck updates ? Anyone have some link to download yuzu?
