And how exactly are bunch of genocide supporters who claim to be leftists (russia is an authoritarian capitalist state) any better than some American oligarchs?
I watch a lot of movies with subtitles, the usual approach is to have "forced" subtitles track (to be used in combination with a foreign language VO/dub).
That being said, it's possible that you are right. But considering the overall approach used by American oligarchs, it's reasonable to be sceptical and not give them the benefit of the doubt.

Get fucked. You support the russian invasion. Millions had to leave Donbas during russian occupation. Tens of million will have to leave if russia succeeds.
You want me and my family to be sent to a russian torture camp for speaking Ukrainian. You deny our country's right to self determination with your stupid "muh BIA!!!" bullshit and support the extermination of our culture and language.
Hope one day you and your fellow tankies will experience what you wish for me and my fellow citizens.
Fuck you!

Being Ukrainian it's not possible for me to donate to supporters of russian genocidal imperialism.
I hope both of them meet the same fate as "Donbas Cowboy", Russell Bentley:
Bentley’s wife, Lyudmila, then claimed that Russian soldiers from a tank battalion abducted him.
According to the Investigative Committee, Vansyatsky, Agaltsev, and Iordanov tortured Bentley on April 8, and he died shortly afterward.
I am personally hoping that the core software will be forked while retaining the Lemmy name. Change it to Lemmy-TSF (tankie scum free). I would donate monthly to a development team that doesn't include genocide supporters.
The Pro cards (from both AMD and Nvidia) always have a massive markup, but $11K sounds crazy.
Clear market failure and oligarch collusion.

We are anticipating chip tariffs to be announced by Wednesday, given that the administration disclosed that they will include semiconductors in a separate policy. As to what kind of "percentages" we could expect from the government, President Trump has said in the past that tariffs on Taiwan as high as 100% are a justified figure, claiming that the nation "stole US tech". And, given that the Commerce Department hasn't seen opposition in its public comment yet, which could give President Trump leverage.
Stole US tech? And what tech would that be? Who stole it?
US Administration Expected To Impose Harsh Chip Tariffs Soon; Commerce Department Apparently Sees No Resentment On Upcoming Semiconductor Policies
Yes, we need form factor that acts as a very strong incentive. A life changing incentive if you will.

I kept getting 80s/90s dystopian cyberpunk motifs in my head when reading this article.
Schmidt does not possess the wealth of an Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos. His personal fortune is roughly $20 billion, so approximately an order of magnitude less. This explains why, according to financial industry sources, Schmidt is presently seeking additional partners to bankroll a revitalized Relativity.
There is an abstract, satirical beauty to this paragraph.
Also worth keeping in mind that Schmidt recently stated that we shouldn't bother with climate goals and just focus on AI.
These individuals really need a dose of reality to get them down from the clouds and back to the ground.
Anyone every tried MSI routers?

Interesting article, thanks for sharing!
There is a lot of content on semiconductor manufacturing (both in context of gaming and beyond) on !hardware@lemmy.world, in one way or another anything related to semiconductors does impact both PC and console gaming (since CPUs and GPUs are key).
If not for consoles, AMD would have likely gone bankrupt or become a marginal player.
Considering what's happening with Intel in the past ~7 year, it would have been game over for x86 PC gaming on the CPU front.
Exactly this.
We continue to be able to make faster chips, both via smaller nodes, but also via advanced packaging and architecture improvements.
But the costs of every new generational increase is rising faster than the % performance improvement.
I am personally hoping this will eventually lead to a culture of total optimization (similar to what we saw in the 90s on both PC and console), but there are likely significant barriers to implementing such a new development culture at scale.
Chips aren’t improving like they used to, and it’s killing game console price cuts

This is really good point. The internet has been completely taken over by American oligarch gangs, on an outcome basis it's not too far from internet censorship China (just implemented via alternative means).
Had to remove spam and some overly obnoxious shit-posting a few times.
Funny thing was that the Intel C series dGPU rumors were based on Linkedin data too.
These are very early stage developments. I think the bigger takeaway is the Intel C series dGPUs are indeed happening.
IMO Pixel would find it hard to survive due to their extremely limited geographic distribution compared to Samsung, Apple and many Chinese smartphone OEMs.
Their TPU and semiconductor business may be in a better position, but at least with Tensor SoC, the team has never worked with 3rd party clients and this is a whole different ball game from an internal only approach.
No idea about their IoT business. I don't use commercial IoT solutions (Raspberry Pi all the way).
However, Intel has not yet fully committed to using the new tool in production, but it has an alternative production flow of its 14A node that uses standard Low-NA EUV as a backup plan.
This does not inspire confidence, but it's good that the this seems to have minimal impact on customer design (design are compatible across both processes).
