It is, but we have kids and quite frankly I'm not about to put them at risk of being screamed at, or my house at risk of attack. My neighbours are amazing and we get on really well with them, but it's not them I'm bothered about. It's the random nutter radicalised by the idiots across the border and Pierre fucking Polievre
A week before Pride last year, my town was dripping in rainbows. The march is this coming Saturday and I have seen maybe 4 or 5 in town and all on businesses, people are nervous .
We've decided that we'd rather not risk marking our house out and aren't putting one up either.

The original rainbow flag was conceived with 8 stripes. Gilbert Baker assigned specific meaning to each of the colors as seen below.

I was recently called a "Gay Elder" and at 53 that was something of a jolt. But it reminded me of the gay elders I used to know when I was a baby gay just starting to make my way in the world in the late 80's. I have fond memories of Richard "Mother" who was mother to all of us fledglings, so caring and loving and worried about us, a sweet guy who I guess would be in his 80's or 90's now, I wish I remembered his stories.
I've recently been listening to a lot of podcasts, particularly the gay hosted ones and have been engrossed in Making Gay History https://makinggayhistory.com/. I highly recommend your checking it out..
So this is for us to share our gay histories, our personal ones, the ones we've recently heard or discovered, and the stories that should be told to those who come after us, so they know who fought for their liberation and can be inspired to keep fighting, because until we all are liberated, then none of us are.
