I use Linux as my main OS.
I still see that people around me use their phones for almost everything.
The tasks mentioned above make sense on a work computer, but most people leave the work computer at work and use their phones on their free time.
Actually, kbin itself is mostly spam lately
Yes. People over there should probably move to Mbin instances
I see where you come from, but mobile phones are much better devices than computers for most of the people:
- always on you
- easier to use
- more "real life" applications (camera, mobile music player etc)
On Lemmy most of the people are desktop enthusiasts running Linux, but it makes sense that other people moved on

Not an Android, but calibre is a good solution if you have a computer at hand

Thank you for this.
The price is indeed the biggest issue. An Xperia 5 V is still 580ā¬ second hand where I live, it's crazy.
Still seems strange, why not just open a new line with the Nothing name? Samsung lines goes from A15 to S22 Ultra within the same brand
I keep hearing about /e/OS, I might give it a try! How is it for the banking apps, does it work as standard Android, or is there any issue?
Earlier this week, the company detailed how the "Google Fit APIs have been deprecated" and that the shutdown is set for June 30, 2025.
Also, for being the manufacturer that makes all the lenses their camera algorithm sucks.
Isn't that on purpose, so that people can adjust their settings themselves?
Thanks for sharing !

Thanks, so same as the 7a when it released.
Damn, I forgot how expensive the a line became
Unfortunately yes.
I'm lucky enough to not have that much issues on my side, but I'm not surprised you are encountering those.
Thanks
Thanks!

Thanks, that's impressive
Which phone do you use?
(Posting this here rather than !askandroid@lemdro.id as it's a quite general question)
I had a look at the GSM Arena phone finder, and it the choice is getting smaller and smaller every year (only 43 phones from 2023, reviewed by the site, had a jack)
The remaining ones are mostly
- Xiaomi Redmi
- Zenfones
- Sony
- Samsung entry range
So, has everyone switched to Bluetooth / USB-C dongles, or are there still a few people holding to the jack until the very end?
Google Meet with "Switch here" is getting the ability to seamlessly transfer calls between devices "without hanging up...

The most popular Redditor of all time exclusively posts anime art on small subreddits.
Over the weekend, I learned an interesting fact: The most popular Redditor of all time has amassed their karma by exclusively posting fanart images of anime girls and vTubers dozens of times a day for roughly five straight years. They have earned more than 46 million karma (Reddit points) by posting almost exclusively to relatively small anime-focused subreddits such as r/AnimeLingerie, r/GenshinImpactNSFW, r/BluearchiveNSFW, r/animebooty, r/animebodysuits, r/thighhighhentai, etc.
The user, called u/CheetahSperm18, spent years posting a mix of hentai and anime art but, more recently, has primarily posted a mix of SFW anime art and mildly NSFW anime waifus in lingerie. CheetahSperm18 passed the infamous u/gallowboob as the most popular Reddit users of all time sometime in 2021, according to the site Karmalb, which is a āLeaderboard for Reddit.ā

Basically, title.
There are a lot of news recently following the Reddit IPO, and I guess it might be interesting to have a dedicated Reddit community (also, having it elsewhere than LW would be nice to reduce the current hypercentralization), and allow people who aren't interested to just block it and still enjoy !technology@lemmy.zip
What do you think? Just asking the community first as I know sometimes people are concerned about community fragmentation
PS: thank you @BrikoX@lemmy.zip for your work animating the lemmy.zip communities!
