Is.. is that not the answer? At least that's my personal experience with it. Few people enjoy writing essays.

It's pretty common to be pro-AI or at least neutral about it. Lemmy seems to have an echo chamber of hating it as far as I can tell, so maybe it's just new people coming in?

but has it happened yet? if yes, then why are we still using american stuff? i just don't buy it.

here is an example: uber was very popular in europe, but they started twisting the knife with prices. alternatives popped up, uber is not so popular anymore.

I'd imagine american cloud services are actually cheaper (because they are so scaled up or whatever), that's why everyone uses them. So I don't know where the argument comes from that they are expensive.

Fair enough.. I meant more in the lines of Europe appeasing (germany in particular) appeasing Russia, but then again, Russia is not directly at war with Germany.

I don't think the issue is growth related, I think it's rather about more and more money going to the top 1%. And that issue is accelerated in USA due to badly regulated corporate capitalism. Greedy shareholders and short time thinking are signs of that, because they keep getting away with it. Looks like this isn't going to change until there is a massive crash..

In addition, (actual!) anti-corruption legislation has a massive potential to hurt right-wingers, because their politics is oriented toward defending/opposing particular groups of people (blind loyalty) rather than defending/opposing values (morality).

Right, which is why it can still be a good change, even if done my a corrupt party.. Granted, if its done right or done at all. Like, in an ideal world, sure lets throw the bribery thing in there as well. But you know, lets be realistic and go one step at a time..

Yeah but that's what i'm saying, given that this same CDU is one of the two parties behind the coalition talks for banning far-right politicians. Only a sarcastic comment would suggest them to do a similar vote against bribery which would get rid of a lot of CDU politicians themselves. Why would they do that if they are corrupt, vote against their own interests?

So, then why suggest this at all? Clearly to steer the discussion away from the original topic - banning far- right politicians.

I mean, you two clowns are the ones claiming that i'm a reactionary (which by extension would imply that communism is progressive, because reactionaries deny progressivism and all that jazz), I just disagreed with that. It's not like I just claimed out of nowhere that communism isn't progressive, I just responded to what you asshats started. But you wouldn't get that, reading comprehension and all that.

Okay let me try to summarize how you two absolute clowns have been derailing this thread.

1. the poster calls out lemmy[.]ml, lemmygrad[.]ml, lemmy[.]worldhe xbea r[.]net for being communist and he does not want to see that shit
2. the user mayo_cider thinks he is somehow calling him out by stating that lemmy was made by communists... so what? that doesn't contradict point 1 whatsoever. yes, it was made by communists, but the whole point of a decentralized platform is that it doesn't mean that we have to be see communist drivel somehow. it's not inherently a communist platform.
3. the op responds with good reasons why he dislikes these instances. lemmy[.]ml - Censorship of pro-ukraine posts and comments lemmygrad - see above; also defederated a lot. lemmy[.]world - too big, has a lot of toxic people, some moderation issues hex - defederated from most of the mainstream fediverse.
4. you respond to that the hex one is exactly what the people leaving reddit should be told.. fair enough, its your opinion, whatever.
5. I respond to you that I disagree, I don't want to see that crap, and seeing similar things in reddit made my experience miserable there as well. I just have a different opinion, still all good.
6. Now you call me a reactionary (which I am not, but thats besides the point). Here you already derailed the topic, its just some personal insult stuff with no actual point behind it. I guess I offended you somehow by not liking hexbear content, go figure. I did not call you a dirty commy or something because of what you said in comment 4. You derailed by making it personal and making no points whatsoever.
7. now ProfessorOwl_PhD responds to me by claiming i don't know what words mean and i should google. they are wrong with that assumption, but fair enough, all good this far.
8. I respond to ProfessorOwl_PhD by specifying that I know what words mean and I even make a correct assumption that I was being called a reactionary in comment 6. because I don't like communism.
   I don't know why we are talking about this, but fair enough, lets clarify then.
9. now in that response, ProfessorOwl_PhD, instead of accepting that they misunderstood my comment, they further derail the topic by starting to argue that anyone who opposes communism are reactionary... Why are we talking about this? What does any of this has to do with comments 1-5?
10. I respond, because why not. But I did not start this and I have very low interest in this derailment. I did not start this and I don't know why we are here. Also, this is where I start to mention that I'm not interested and lets wrap it up. Why would I be interested in this discussion, if my whole point from my comment (5.) is that I don't like to see communist crap in my social media platform? Would it not by extension be clear that I DO NOT enjoy engaging with it?
11. ProfessorOwl_PhD completely ignores that i'm not interested and tries to get political with me. I'm not interested so at this point I'm not responding to the contents of their comment. This is just further derailment after all.
12. I respond with stating that their reading comprehension must be really bad because they just refuse to get my point that i'm not interested.
13. now you step in, somehow finding it ironic that I call them out on their reading comprehension, where i'm implying that i'm not interested. No, it's not ironic, and no, you are saying nothing of value here. Derailing.

15. You claim that somehow all these comments (6-14) have been related to the original comments in the thread (1-4). They have not. Also you say some weird schizo shit about brigading that has nothing to do with nothing, even more derailing and personal insults.

Did I clear it up? Probably too confusing for you, let me guess, you will respond with even more points that have nothing to do with anything. It might be because I was young when I read Harry Potter, but the whole series was magical for me exactly because of stuff like this.
