Don't you? GI Joe Retaliation: London gets shelled from orbit and apparently destroyed - barely acknowledged afterwards. GI Joe Resolute: Moscow gets obliterated by a space laser or whatever as a show of force, and it barely matters afterwards. And don't get me started on the action movies where hundreds of people are snuffed out on the regular with perhaps just a quip to notice it. It's only "reflected on" if it's the "correct" kind of people

Right, so it's been some time since I've seriously studied physics, but I'm fairly sure that microwave radiation is soaked readily by water/water vapour, which is why we have microwave ovens. So it would seem a lot of this projected energy would just be wasted on heating the atmosphere between the station and ground receiver. Do you happen to have links to the studies, because surely they had to address the issue?

How do they plan to transfer the energy to Earth? Lasers?

What do they even do with those profits? Doesn't look like they're refurbishing the infrastructure (inb4 that new pipe to China - not what I meant). Doesn't look like they're investing much into those online platforms they own. Is it just the same "buying real estate in Europe", but now extra hush-hush?

To do what, exactly? Defend them against the hypothetical Russian invasion? That was hardly in the books. Exercise force in defence of colonial interests? France been doing that by themselves just fine (until recently). If anything, US military presence in Europe seems to be for the benefit of USA and USA alone

Makes me wonder what will happen should China fully switch to renewables and nuclear, as seems to be the plan
