  • I mean, you laugh, but a 0 mana instant can be lethal with the right cards on the table.

They say you should fear the blue player with untapped mana. I say you should fear the player who offers you nothing but Thoughts and Prayers.

  • People forget that libraries are still a thing.

Sadly, a big problem with society is that we all want quick, easy fixes, of which there are none when it comes to mental health, and anyone who offers one - even an AI - is selling you that illustrious snake oil.

  • I believe lousyd and dingus said almost everything I came in here to say.

Growing up I never felt like one of the "boys". It felt like even in prepubescence there was an expectation for boys to act a certain way, but I never fit that mould.

Whilst I enjoyed boyish things like playing football, when it came to the social side of things I always preferred talking to girls and indulging in their activities (at that age, it was silly things like making daisy chains and stuff).

Thankfully, my parents taught me from a very young age that society has its problems, but that society should never hold power over how I express myself: always be kind, never hurt anyone, but don't take people's shit either.

Through adolescence I would also do many things that most people wouldn't consider "normal" or "manly". On the rare occasion I'd play with my sister's Barbie dolls, I kept a diary (which I only ever really saw as being a 'girly' thing thanks to mainstream media), but it never even occurred to me that doing all this stuff made me anything other than a "boy".

Society wants to put labels on everything to make shit really digestible, but finding a label to put on yourself may not be any kind of magical mystery cure to the uncertainty you may feel about your gender.

The problem with labels in general is that once you have one, it creates an internal dissonance if you don't conform to the norms of that label. "Why aren't I like other girls?" is a perfectly valid question when society has told you in no uncertain terms what a girl should be, and then realising you don't fit that stereotype, but you could replace 'girl' with any other label in that question and still find yourself at odds with societal norms.

In the end I'm just "me", and you are you, and whilst this feels like it goes against the grain of society at present: understanding that you don't need to add labels to yourself can bring your own sense of inner peace.

If someone asks you "Oh, are you non-binary?", "Are you asexual?", "Are you [whatever]?", it can be rather liberating to be able to say "dunno, don't care, if that's what you wanna call me, you do you" or words to that effect.

tl,dr; fuck society, you do you ❤️

  • I love writing myself and I absolutely despise it.

Not to send you down the TV trope rabbit hole, but I believe it's "The power of trust" where side characters put unreasonable amounts of trust into a character they've only just met (Doctor Who is a bloody classic at this one), mixed with a bit of "The Gift" where people will grant the protagonist unrealistically generous gifts for little to nothing in return.

And it's not like CJ ever gets called out on the bullshit he does, either. The mission that absolutely stands out to me in terms of CJ's insanity is the one where he straight up murders the construction site manager in cold blood for harassing Kendl.

Sure, the part where you wreck the construction site makes sense, but to then bury the guy in concrete is plain stupid. If I were Kendl I'd be fucking horrified 😅

  • I'm British, let me do you the honour:

"Gesib, hit is earfoð þæt to secgenne. • Then it's a shit discord group.

  • I could write literally essays about Sweet, but sadly it's all been done before by a plethora of different YouTubers. I don't feel like I have much to put on the table that hasn't been analysed to death before 😂

  • A lot of Sweet's characterisation is based around the idea that the hood is where he was born and raised, it's where everyone he knows has always been. He feels he owes a permanent debt to the hood. Through gang warfare he has lost at least two family members and likely more friends. It's like a duty to him to ensure that those who are under his leadership are taken care of and protected.

Anyone who has played the game, though, understand that literally none of that happens, and that's down to his own incompetence. He's not a natural leader and totally out of his depth in trying to be one. As such, he has no real solutions and the Grove tears itself apart as more families see through his incompetency.

His intentions are absolutely noble, but his actions are fucking useless.

  • Ah shit. The worst part was I looked at that exact page to check my knowledge. My eyes must have slipped from albatross straight to hole in one 😂 ffs

And I also learned I need to be better at reading what I'm looking at

  • This is the kind of scenario where I personally can not even remotely fathom what is going through the heads of the people doing this.

    Do they actually not care?

Are they "just doing their job"?

Do they get off on the power trip?

    A bit of column A, a little column B?

They can't possibly see any of these people as a genuine physical threat to their person.

I refuse to believe they don't have the comprehension enough to understand their actions...

...but then how are they justifying it? What possible mental gymnastics are these people putting themselves through to attempt to justify this to themselves? To try and tell themselves they're doing the right thing?

Is it conformity? Everyone else on my team is doing this so I need to do this as well!

So they're simply spineless? They know what they're doing is wrong but refuse to speak out about it because it'll ostracise them?

Or they're thinking they need to conform to keep their jobs? Rocking the boat will damage their chances at promotion after all, or even cost them their jobs entirely!

So it's a societal thing? I'm a part of a group which ostracises the jobless and homeless and if I lose my job I'll be jobless and potentially homeless which means I'll be ostracised as well!

I would love to know, I would really love to know the thoughts going through these fuckers' heads as they tighten the zip ties around these people's wrists.

  • So if Max moves... Do they ship Kimi to Cadillac or do they leave George in the cold?

  • Is true throughout history. Hard times? Blame the immigrants!

  • About 10 years ago I was happy with 12°C when I used to work outdoors. Cold enough to work hard without working up a major sweat.

Nowadays, given how it is constantly humid as balls here now, I lean towards 10°C being a similarly comfortable temperature, even 8°C depending on what I'm doing

  • Me, a Brit, in the north, currently experiencing our version of 19°C:

I was in Berlin last month during the heatwave. In comparison, 35°C in Berlin is much more tolerable than 24°C in the UK.

  • And it's always 5 minutes too late
