Yeah, I've actually just unsubscribed from !memes@lemmy.ml because otherwise it was the only community to appear in my subscribed feed. One thing reddit did well and I miss on lemmy was giving visiblility to posts on smaller subscribed communities when sorting by hot

The problem will stay there as long as lemmy links don't automatically redirect to your instance in somr way.

That's just plain wrong. The main reason the majority of people moved here is because they don't want the way they view their content to be controlled by spez/musk/whoever. I'd bet most of people here (me included) would have kept consuming what you call that "barrage of monotonic, brain-rotting content" on reddit if not for spez forcing us to use his shitty ads- and trackers-filled app.

Edit : I seem to still have the "wheel keeps spinning, have to reload to see my comment posted" issue, is that the one you're talking about here ? But tbf it was an issue I even already had on Reddit (mobile web) so I can't be mad 😅

I noticed upvotes are behaving weirdly sometimes, like the upvote count of a post will shuffle between random numbers like 55 then 735 then 345 then 56 then 902 then 736 then 4 then 57 then 346 then 251 then 58. (Yeah, I noticed some of these are counsecutive which makes me think we're somehow upvoting on different counts and it shows the most recently upvoted.) Also sometimes when I upvote a comment my upvote disappears and sometimes it reappears later... why ?
