Different thought so I'm leaving a second comment. For whatever reason I thought We Live In Time had this premise for like a third of the movie. In hindsight I don't really know why I did. I think it's because Andrew Garfield's character took notes and seemed flustered at times? I suppose I thought this was him trying to keep things straight in his brain? No. It's just a normal story told in a noninear fashion. I loved it though.

It's good. Honestly I think Ruffalo being in there less would do it some good. Make the scenes he's in stick out more.

The movie just sort of goes all over. I like movies like that though.

The premise is get crossfaded and enjoy the ride. The execution is flawless.

If you want more you got SCP lol.

I feel like it would've been a little better if they held off on the reveal that it was staged for a bit, but it's been ages since I've seen it. I remember enjoying it though.

What was pitched as social commentary was just a nothing burger of an adventure.

I know you're playfully joking, but I second their opinion. I was basically on a crusade against misinformation in 2020 and 2021 against COVID deniers and election truthers. Nobody ever changes their mind. Nobody ever admits their wrong. No matter how respectful and accommodating you are, no matter what sources you find, it's just not worth it. Give one response if you feel inclined, but don't reply to the reply. Don't waste your time. Don't get pointlessly stressed.

People do change their minds sometimes, but it's never done in the moment and if you press them too hard on their beliefs they'll double down.

I think I only call it Max instead of HBO or HBO Max less than 25% of the time. This rebrand was goofy. Still not as bad as Twitter's.

One of my biggest gripes about the fediverse (and honestly any online community) is people making increasingly niche places to discuss things before there is a need to split things due to size. I'd post that to something like a general hobbies group. I'd also say mods need to be less strict about what is and isn't on-topic while there isn't much traffic in their communities.

Report that to the app developer as a bug then, because if you go to Lemmy through your instance's website you should see options for this. Enable English and Unspecified. (A lot of people who have things set up wrong or have apps that ignore it may be posting with Unspecified instead of their actual language.)

I actively avoid stuff like that because of the reasons you mentioned and fear of not being able to disable it if it makes the game more unenjoyable.
