Weekly Warframe: Kullervo
  • Here he is! My personal pick for current strongest frame in the game! I was honestly a bit torn between him and Dante, but I think I would put Kullervo ever so slightly higher, his scaling coming from weapons makes him far more resilient to power creep and his single target damage is insane, Dante suffers a bit on that front.
Needles to say, this frame is crazy. Insane levels of damage, shared between as many enemies as you can Collective Curse, nearly immortal thanks to on-demand overguard, free combo counter generator build in to make his heavy attack numbers even sillier and a mobility tool that makes Ash jealous (poor Teleport crying in the corner). This frame, along with Zephyr, are your easiest entry points into Steel Path. If you like guns, pick Zephyr. If you prefer melee, Kullervo is your man. Both of them require just a decent weapon modded for their respective strengths to dominate Steel Path enemies with absolute ease. Just like Zephyr, you don't even need any mods on Kullervo himself to easily stomp your way through any mission. No matter if it's a boss or a horde of troops, he carves his way right through them all the same.

  • Weekly Warframe: Kullervo

The betrayer, master of daggers, red crit number overflow - Kullervo!

    Release date: 2023-06-21

Passive: All melee weapons equipped by Kullervo gain +75% Heavy Attack Efficiency and +100% Heavy Attack Wind Up Speed. Wrathful Advance - (TAP) Kullervo charges a Heavy Attack, then teleports to his target and strikes. His rage-filled focus temporarily increases his Melee Critical Chance. (HOLD) Teleport to any marked location. Recompense - Kullervo surrounds himself with daggers. Each dagger that strikes an enemy restores his health, but each dagger that misses an enemy strikes Kullervo, dealing a bit of damage. When Kullervo has max Health, he receives Overguard from struck enemies. Collective Curse - Kullervo sends forth a curse that binds enemies. When a cursed enemy takes damage from him, every other cursed enemy also suffers a portion of that damage. Storm of Ukko - The Void answers Kullervo’s invocation with a storm of daggers that rain down upon his enemies.

Acquisition: Main and component blueprints are purchased from Acrithis for Kullervo's Bane.

[DISC] You and I are Polar Opposites - Chapter 61
  • A Taira and Azuma chapter, I was hoping it would be one! There is hope for Azuma yet, poor Taira is slowly working through his issues. I won't be surprised if as this goes on and they both work out their respective problems, they kinda just become a couple without an official confession or anything.

  • I need a bit of Wisp propaganda.
  • The main thing that makes Wisp such a good support frame is her sheer convenience and low maintenance. Support is a very unpopular and underplayed role in Warframe and for a good reason. All the good top end frames are entirely self sufficient, requiring no external aid to easily dominate. Wisp breaks the mold by providing generally useful buffs that apply to you AND your teammates while requiring no work from the player on top of having a solid CC/damage ability and a free subsume slot. A 400% power strength Wisp with Pillage makes for an incredibly nasty weapons platform frame while also helping out teammates with her Motes. She can support her teammates without needing to work for it all while being capable of doing the mission by herself if need be.

  • Thought experiment: if you had to Iron Man the star chart with a single frame, who would it be?
  • Octavia for sure! Not only is her toolkit good at basically everything, her passive helps with one of the worst early game problems, energy economy. Not being forced to rely entirely on energy drop RNG to be able to maintain your abilities is liberating before Zenurik and other energy generators kick in.

  • Weekly Warframe: Citrine
  • The second best support frame in the game, only beat by Wisp due to the sheer convenience of her Motes. While her abilities require her to do far more than just "press 1 and enjoy buffs" to get their payoff, the reward is well worth it! This frame takes Gara's best abilities and makes them even better! Team-wide 90% DR with none of the annoying maintenance associated with Splinter Storm. Crystallize is Mass Vitrify but in a cone and much much faster, while giving everyone capable of aiming red crits with any weapon. More of a status person than a crit one? Prismatic Gem has you covered, all enemies now come pre-primed while your weapons get bonus status chance and duration! And her Fractured Blast provides both health orbs to fuel her passive and energy orbs to keep her energy economy going. With Equilibrium on you can forgo efficiency completely and not care one bit. If this frame wasn't locked behind such an annoying farm I imagine she would be way more popular, it's the one bad thing about her.

  • Weekly Warframe: Citrine

The crystal maiden, the walking geode, incredibly annoying to farm - Citrine!

    Release date: 2023-02-15

Passive: Citrine emits a healing aura within a radius of 50 meters that continuously recover a base 5 Health points per second. Whenever she picks up a regular Health Orb, Dispensary produced Empowered variant, or Transmutation Probe converted Universal Orb, regeneration rate is permanently increased by 0.1 points, up to a maximum heal rate of 25 points per second. Fractured Blast - Slash and stagger enemies with a crystal blast that inflicts Bleed. Enemies afflicted with this Status Effect have an increase chance of dropping Health and Energy Orbs. Preserving Shell - Citrine guards herself and nearby allies with a crystalline shell that gradually decays. Kills and assists increase the defensive power of the shell. Prismatic Gem - Deploy a gem that shoots prismatic beams. The gem targets enemies that are taking weapon damage from Citrine and her allies. Its beams inflict Heat, Cold, Toxin, and Electricity Status Effects. Status Chance and Status Duration increase for nearby allies. Crystallize - Citrine summons crystal fractals. The fractals rush forward, seeking enemies. Enemies touched by the fractals are paralyzed crystalline growths. Hit the growths to deal Critical Damage.

Acquisition: Pain Main and component blueprints can be obtained from Rotation C of Mirror Defense Tyana Pass on Mars. Alternatively they can be purchased from Otak in the Necralisk, Deimos with Belric Crystal Fragment and Rania Crystal Fragment.

    Weekly Warframe: Voruna
  • I know I said last week that the upcoming frames are all powerhouses...here we have an exception. She's not bad and you can make her work, even if some of her abilities feel really clunky to use, but she gets completely overshadowed by all the frames that follow her. I might be a bit biased against her as she is a melee frame and I really don't like melee much in Warframe, but I don't think I'm being that unfair when in 2 weeks we will discuss arguably the most powerful frame in the game right now.

  • Weekly Warframe: Voruna

The werewolf, one wolf pack, the furry frame - Voruna!

    Release date: 2022-11-30

Passive: Voruna has 4 wolf ghostly companions, she can invoke their powers as her passive by holding their respective ability keys. 1 gives parkour velocity, 2 grants status immunity, 3 gives 100% heavy attack efficiency and 4 prevents your death once on a CD. Shroud of Dynar - Dynar shrouds Voruna with invisibility and accelerates her speed. Invisibility ends when Voruna attacks. For a short time, melee attacks have increased Critical Damage and Status Chance and inflict Bleed. Melee kill an enemy during this time to extend the buff. Fangs of Raksh - Raksh's fangs tear into your enemies. 5 random Status Effects are applied at 10 Stacks each on an enemy. On target's death, spread the Status Effects to other nearby enemies. Lycath's Hunt - Lycath hunts to sustain the pack. There is a chance for enemies killed by melee attacks to drop health orbs and enemies killed by headshots to supply energy orbs. Increase the duration of Lycath's hunt by killing enemies affected by 5 or more Status Effects. Ulfrun's Descent - Voruna drops to all fours and prepares 5 brutal charges that lock onto enemies. Ulfrun, the most powerful wolf, leads the attack as Voruna dashes toward her target. The pack deals increased damage to targets and nearby enemies that are inflicted by Status Effects. Lethal attacks double the damage of Voruna’s remaining charges.

Acquisition: Main and component blueprints can be obtained from Rotation C of Conjunction Survival Yuvarium and Circulus on Lua. Also available from Archimedean Yonta on the Chrysalith, Zariman Ten Zero with Lua Thrax Plasm.

Which anime do you enjoy with a mostly adult cast of characters?
  • I loved Wotakoi. The 4 main characters are 26-28 and employed. It's in the especially rare category of adult romcoms. It's a shame the anime never got a second season, but the manga is finished so if you give it a watch and want to find out what happened after, give it a read!

  • [DISC] You and I Are Polar Opposites - Ch. 60 - Where There's a Will
  • I love these three panels. So cute!

  • Weekly Warframe: Styanax
  • As we approach the more recent frames, most of these are going to be absolute monsters. Styanax is no exception. This guy's got it all and then some! Near unlimited energy for you and your team? Check! Full armor strip on demand with no prerequisites? Check! A huge AoE nuke that deals Slash procs on every hit and provides you and your entire team 30k Overguard? Check! This frame is insanely powerful and I'm constantly surprised to never see anyone play him despite DE handing him out multiple times for free with a potato included.

  • Weekly Warframe: Styanax

The Spartan, poke & board master, rain of thousand spears - Styanax!

    Release date: 2022-09-07

Passive: Styanax's weapon Critical Chance bonus increases by 1% per 40 Shield points, based on his current total including Overshields. Passive bonus is doubled on Speargun primary Weapons. Axios Javelin - Throw an Axios Javelin. When the javelin impales an enemy against a wall, surrounding enemies are pulled into the area and suffer a burst of damage. Tharros Strike - Summon Tharros, the shield of Styanax. Swing Tharros to repel enemies and reduce their shields and armor. Styanax regenerates health for every enemy struck. Rally Point - Draw enemy attention to Styanax. His resolve uplifts nearby allies, regenerating the squad’s energy over time. Styanax and his allies also regenerate shields for every kill assist they contribute. Final Stand - Exude might and valor. Rise into the air and throw a barrage of Axios Javelins. The javelins deal damage to nearby enemies wherever they land. Direct hits to enemies deal greater damage.

Acquisition: Main and component blueprints are available from Chipper of Kahl's Garrison with Stock earned from Break Narmer weekly missions.

    How to silence Adversaries?
  • There are a bunch of volume sliders in the settings, lowering Transmissions down to 0% should silence them

  • Weekly Warframe: Gyre
  • Glad to see that, for how squishy this frame is she definitely deserves to have the damage and AoE to wipe the whole map with ease. I might try her out instead of Saryn the next time I need to erase a Grineer galleon worth of troops from existence!

  • Weekly Warframe: Gyre
  • I remember this frame being insane on release to the point her rapid damage ticks crashed the game for some people. Then she got "fixed" which also nerfed her to the point of irrelevancy. I never seen much of her since then. I never played her much myself, especially post her changes, did this frame ever get her teeth back or is she still just a worse Volt?

  • Weekly Warframe: Gyre

The electrifying ballerina, walking Tesla Coil, the other electricity themed frame - Gyre!

    Release date: 2022-04-27

Passive: Gyre's abilities gain a flat 10% Critical Chance per active Electricity status proc affecting an individual enemy to deal 2.0x Critical Damage against that enemy. Arcsphere - Launch a Gyratory Sphere that will deal high damage on impact and periodically deal electrical shocks to nearby enemies. Hit multiple enemies at once with the initial launch to enhance damage. Coil Horizon - Throw forward a Gyratory Sphere that will implode after a few seconds or can be manually triggered. Cathode Grace - Gain a brief burst of increased Critical Chance and Energy Regen, with each kill extending duration of Cathode Grace. Casting is on a cooldown. Rotorswell - Gyre’s mechanisms spin at incredible speeds, generating an Electric Field that shocks nearby enemies. When Gyre gets a critical hit, a large electrical discharge will chain from the enemy that was hit to nearby enemies.

Acquisition: Component and main blueprints can be acquired from The Holdfasts' bounties on the Chrysalith.

Baldur’s Gate 3 director says he thought the game would be too short because of all the cut content | VGC
  • Yeah, I was very dissapointed by that as well. As far as I'm aware, the only time it matters is when

    Act 3 spoiler

The Emperor offers you the Astral tadpole, if you used any worms you have to pass a check that grows harder the more worms you consumed to resist using it, if you abstained you can just say no.

Big shame that's all that remains of this system.

  • Baldur’s Gate 3 director says he thought the game would be too short because of all the cut content | VGC
  • Yeah, stuffing more worms into your brain being purely a beneficial mechanic with no drawbacks is a very weird choice. This whole system was honestly better in early access than it ended up being, having the tadpoles be just a dialogue option with a very easy check but consequences the more you used them. The ring that Omeluum gives you was even supposed to help, only to get changes into a boring Charm resistance ring on release.

  • Weekly Warframe: Caliban
  • Oh Caliban! A frame so bad, so forgotten DE literally has to give him away to everyone upon his rework just so people actually get to experience the thing. I hope Pablo is cooking cause this guy needs a full course meal! With a single redeemable ability rendered obsolete by the armor/damage type rework Caliban has nothing going on for him. Add to that the abysmal acquisition with timegated droptables and high-end Railjack resources required to build him and it's no wonder the poor guy is completely forgotten. This guy is in a state as dire as old Hydroid was. Here's hoping his rework turns out as good as that one did!

  • Weekly Warframe: Caliban

The sentient-warframe chimera, the forgotten, weakest part of The New War - Caliban!

    Release date: 2021-12-15

Passive: Adaptation, but worse. It applies to teammates as well but they are either shield gating or running the real thing. Razor Gyre - Become a spinning vortex of death. Hold MB1 to accelerate the maelstrom, increasing damage or target an enemy by tapping MB1 to dash toward them. Hitting enemies inflicted with Sentient Wrath creates a destructive blast. Sentient Wrath - Smash the ground sending out a radial wave of destruction. Those not killed by the initial blast are helplessly lifted into the air, where they take amplified damage for a short time. Lethal Progeny - Call on Caliban's Sentient aspect to produce up three Conculyst comrades to fight by his side, and repair his shields. Fusion Strike - Converge three streams of raw energy upon a single point, causing a massive reactive blast. The fallout from the blast will strip the armor and shields from all enemies that touch it.

Acquisition: Pure pain. Main blueprint is purchased from the Market. Component blueprints are acquired from Narmer Bounties after completion of The New War.

    4
    Weekly Warframe: Yareli
  • Merulina works the same way Rhino's Iron Skin and Nezha's Warding Halo work, during the 4sec invincibility period after casting all damage you take adds to it's HP pool. Even with no HP absorbed, getting an extra 10-15k effective HP (depending on power strength) for 25 energy with a guaranteed 4sec of invulnerability is nothing to sneeze at! As always, the best defense is not getting hit, and not being bound to clunky K-drive controls thanks to Royal Merulina helps a lot with that.

  • Weekly Warframe: Yareli
  • Yareli really went from rags to riches since her release! Changes to her 4 and her new augment, Loyal Merulina, contributed the most to making her into a really good generalist frame. That augment alone just does so much for her. No longer are you bound to the clunky K-drive movement, but on top of that you also get 5 sec of invincibility whenever you cast this ability. And you can recast it as often as you want! It also lets you use subsumes on her 3, before it was very clunky to do so as you couldn't use them while riding Merulina. On top of all that, it even shoots out Sea Snares for you! She's up there now with the likes of Nezha, Rhino, Revenant, etc. as a solid good-at-everything kind of frame. She's got the damage buffs, grouping abilities that act as a low level nuke and a very solid survivability ability. Give this frame a go again if you only remember her release state!

  • Weekly Warframe: Yareli

The waverider, the other water themed frame, beaten by a random Grineer henchman in her own lore entry - Yareli!

    Release date: 2021-07-06

Passive: Everflowing with the seas, whenever Yareli moves for at least 1.5 seconds, she gains the Critical Flow buff that increases Critical Chance on her secondary Weapon by 200%. Sea Snares - Form three water globules that seek out enemies and expand on contact, simultaneously damaging and immobilizing their victims. Merulina - Summon Merulina, a rideable creature of the waves, and the inspiration for K-Driving. Merulina protects Yareli by absorbing a large portion of incoming damage. Aquablades - Tear through foes with a trio of orbiting aquatic blades. Riptide - Drag enemies into a crushing maelstrom and then blow them away in a watery burst. Each enemy trapped in the vortex increases the burst's Damage.

Acquisition: Main blueprint is acquired by completing The Waverider quest. Component blueprints are acquired through Research inside the Ventkids' Bash Lab within the Clan Dojo.

    *Permanently Deleted*
  • This looks much better than the last trailer, I appreciate how so many of the animations are clearly inspired by the janky but charming original ones. My biggest complaint from the Teaser was the overly talkative player character. Don't turn the Nameless Hero into your bog standard "must comment on literally everything that happens" character so many modern games have.

  • Weekly Warframe: Sevagoth
  • The newest upcoming Prime is here (sorry Lavos and Xaku)! A Warframe know more for his amazing subsume ability than the frame itself. I gave this guy an honest shot when he came out, I even managed to farm 2 of him rather painlessly, he just never felt good to play to me. Not only is he a massive forma hog, being 2 whole frames in one with an exalted weapon on top, his killing potential always felt...lackluster. His shadow is also rather disappointing, normal melee or just any good gun will be far more deadly (Exalted weapons in general are long overdue a rework). Gloom is an absolutely amazing ability to give to other frames, though. Any frame that struggles with surviving can benefit from the massive slow and lifesteal Gloom provides, it makes Saryn literally immortal (baring one-shots) with the constant damage ticks from Spores.

  • Weekly Warframe: Sevagoth

The phantom, the reaper, the devourer of Forma himself - Sevagoth!

    Release date: 2021-04-13

Passive: On fatal injury and entering Bleedout, Sevagoth's body petrifies into a broken tombstone as his Shadow manifests itself. Reap - Sevagoth’s Shadow flies outward ravaging enemies in his path. Survivors are damaged by Death’s Harvest over time. The souls of the dead fill the Death Well. Sow - Plant a death seed in nearby targets to drain their lifeforce. Reap what has been sown to detonate afflicted enemies, dealing a percentage of their health as radial damage. The souls of the dead fill the Death Well. Gloom - Summon a radial pulse wave that ensnares and slows enemies, siphoning their lifeforce for the Death Well. Allies within the wave steal health with each attack. Exalted Shadow - When the Death Well fills to above 75%, Sevagoth’s Shadow form is ready to be released. Tear the enemy asunder with a collection of Melee-focused Abilities.

Acquisition: Main blueprint is acquired after completing the Call of the Tempestarii quest. Components each have a 10% chance of being awarded as a bonus reward at the end of Void Storm missions exclusively in Neptune Proxima, Pluto Proxima, or Veil Proxima.

    3
    Weekly Warframe: Lavos
  • I really like Lavos in concept. A frame utilizing cooldowns in place of the traditional resource like energy or shields other frames use is really interesting. But his CD numbers are just too high for what you get out of them. That and the requirement to prime enemies with status before being able to nuke just makes him really clunky to actually play. His 4 also has a very awkward hitbox, being a circular AoE but not really as only the probes actually hit enemies, leaving a ton of gaps between themselves as they expand.

  • Weekly Warframe: Lavos

The alchemist, master of the elements, "HUNTER! Try another ability!" the frame - Lavos!

    Release date: 2020-12-18

Passive: Purifying himself from all ailments, Lavos cleanses all active negative Status Effects and gains status immunity for 10 seconds upon collecting an Energy or Universal Orb. Ophidian Bite - Lash out with a toxic serpentine strike, consuming the target to heal Lavos. Vial Rush - Dash forward, crashing through enemies and leaving an icy trail of broken vials. Transmutation Probe - Launch a probe that converts Health and Energy Orbs into Universal Orbs that provide both, and ammo pickups into Universal Ammo Pickups. The probe shocks enemies in close proximity. Each electrocuted foe reduces other ability cooldowns by one second. Catalyze - Catalyst Probes erupt from Lavos and douse combatants in a fiery gel. Damage is doubled for each element afflicting an enemy.

Acquisition: Main and component blueprints are available from Father with Entrati standing.

    3
    Weekly Warframe: Xaku

The fragmented one, 3 frames in a trench coat, Unlimited Gun Works - Xaku!

Xata's Whisper - Wield Void damage for all attacks from equipped weapons when activated. Grasp of Lohk - Void Tendrils steal weapons from nearby enemies to use as your own floating, auto-targeting armament. The Lost - Cycle through and cast one of the three abilities originating from the Warframes that make up Xaku: Accuse, Gaze, and Deny. The Vast Untime - Temporarily shed the outer pieces of Xaku in a destructive blast, then stalk the battlefield in a new, swifter skeletal form. Enemies damaged by the body shrapnel are rendered weaker to Void damage.

Each enemy hit increases the power of subsequent plasma attacks. Dispensary - Deploys a device that generates 3 pickups after a short delay: empowered health orb, universal ammo pack and energy orb. Temporal Anchor - Drops a Temporal Anchor which, after a short duration, Protea rewinds to triggering a temporal implosion. Implosion damage increases based on damage dealt between anchor drop and rewind. Everything lost or expended in that time is returned. Dying while Anchor is active rewinds Protea to the anchor, saving her. Protea is knocked down and the anchor vanishes.

Acquisition: Main blueprint is rewarded upon completion of The Deadlock Protocol quest. Component blueprints can be acquired from within the Granum Void.

Each enemy still alive in Grendel's belly passively grants him 250 Armor, to a maximum of 1,250 bonus armor at the 5 enemy cap. Feast - Swallow an enemy whole and store it in Grendel’s gut. Passive: Gauss has access to a special battery meter filled up by running that gives him buffs depending on fill rate and affects some of his abilities. Mach Rush - Burst into a hyper-sprint bowling over enemies and charging the battery. Crashing into solid objects generates a powerful shockwave. Hold to rush continuously. Kinetic Plating - Generate armor plating that converts a portion of absorbed Kinetic Damage into Energy. Also protects Gauss from being staggered or knocked down. Damage Resistance is relative to the battery level. Thermal Sunder - Siphon kinetic energy from the area, charging the battery and inflicting Cold Status on nearby enemies. Hold reverses the process, draining the battery and inflicting Heat Status on nearby enemies. Redline - Push Gauss' battery beyond the redline, supercharging his Abilities and setting Fire Rate, Attack Speed, Reload Speed, and Holster Rate into overdrive. When past the redline, bolts of arcing electricity dance periodically from Gauss, exploding en masse when the ability is deactivated.
