  • Now you're thinking with drones!

  • Trump floats ‘migrant league of fighters’ in latest dehumanizing rhetoric against migrants
  • For Trump this is a remarkably coherent idea. It has multiple parts and those are all words he said.

  • Kyle Rittenhouse’s family: We’re his collateral damage
  • The far-right darling is accused of leaving his mom and sister high and dry as they fight eviction.

Wasn't his mother the one who helped him get a gun and drove him to commit his murders? And he just leaves her twisting in the wind?

  • Not to mom shame...
  • Your teeth are natural mind-control blockers. Dentin is the best radiation-absorber this side of lead paint!

  • Finally a useful feature (no)
  • Logitech hardware: pretty good!

Logitech software: worst shit I've ever seen.

Logitech AI: Dead-drunk Skynet telling you to lick your fans.

  • It's going. I'm alive.
  • My coworker once when I asked him a hard question: "Don't make me lie to you."

I still think of that a lot and try to work it in when someone asks me an impossible question.

  • OpenAI and Anthropic are ignoring an established rule that prevents bots scraping online content
  • Generative AIs are thieves and this is just more evidence.

  • Just put auto flight correction software on them. They shoot a large caliber gun, start flipping from recoil and their software corrects for it. It means they need to right themselves and reacquire their target each time but that shouldn't be an issue for a drone.

  • Why are Republicans/Conservatives embracing fanaticalism these days?
  • We have never rejected fanaticism.

The revolution was built on fanatical ideas and ideals of American exceptionalism and where was propaganda to support that.

The civil was started primarily because the wealthy didn't want to give up free labor (slaves) but a lot of individuals supported it because they felt the big scary northern government was attacking their homes and they had to defend them and their way of life (still, slavery,).

Pretty much every war is sold based on fanaticism. The Spanish American war was wholesale created by yellow journalism. The world wars were a bit different because America was very isolationist then and it needed a push.

Overall America isn't an exception here. Most humans need to be fanatical to really do big things like war or revolution.

  • Kyle Rittenhouse out there making a career of exactly that.

  • Ron DeSantis signing new law about killing bears raises eyebrows
  • There's a bunch of black bears in NW Florida. During the hell years I lived there 911 would get calls about them in yards and the advice was to leave them alone unless they are hurting someone. Animal control wouldn't come out if there wasn't a threat. They were usually just meandering between forest patches. And it was illegal to shoot them in most circumstances; especially since most of this was in subdivisions.

This would effectively allow cowboys to start blasting in your neighborhoods. Probably leaving rotting corpses of young black bears on the corner or in the streets.

  • Lepidoptera 🤙🤙🤙
  • Butterflies and moths for those not wanting to search it.

  • Which GM-dere are you?
  • I try to be himedere but I know I'm just deredere.

  • Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree currently has a 'Mixed' status on Steam, with many of the negative reviews complaining that the bosses are too hard [also game's PC performance]
  • Agreed. I'm glad there's so many difficulty sliders built into this game: big variety of guns, NPC summons, spirit summons.

  • I beat the first major boss: Dancing Lion from trailers. I'm not good at these games. Took me a dozen+ tries. I used the NPC summon because they tend to have story elements.

NPC doesn't do much damage and dies quickly in phase 2. It helps but not that much.

So far it's not that hard. Biggest hurdle is even with +24 weapons I cannot do sufficient damage to the wickermen or new dragons. I assume it's the leveling items? But their moves aren't hard, it just feels like chip damage.

  • Ah Bernie, what could have been...
  • I'm sorry our bloc is too small to be properly represented on the national stage.

  • Ah Bernie, what could have been...
  • That's impossibly risky and there's already been primaries. And the fact you don't have a name and are proposing this shows there simply isn't anyone.

Republicans would eat them alive. So close to the end it'd scream desperation of the worst kind by the Democrats and everyone would assume Biden was dying.

I can't come up with a plan that would ensure another Trump presidency with more certainly than that.

  • Ah Bernie, what could have been...
  • Changing the winning candidate at the eleventh hour for a nobody is definitely the worst thing Democrats could do.

Who would they even pick that the majority of Americans have heard of?

  • Ah Bernie, what could have been...
  • And by "make it happen" you mean help get Trump elected and usher in a fascist dictatorship.

  • Ah Bernie, what could have been...
  • We're seeing it now with leftists who refuse to vote for Biden. Thankfully Lemmy isn't really representative of the population. But they do exist.
