Google apologizes for “missing the mark” after Gemini generated racially diverse Nazis
  • That's really what I'm expecting. My guess is that the training data is skewed, and the prompt cannot adjust.

Either the machine will need to understand what is expected, or the company will need to address this and allow people to enable or disable diversity.

The first option may be impossible to attain at this stage. The second can lead to inappropriate images.

Are there any sites like Lemmy or Reddit that are more intellectual with no memes and no downvoting?
  • Maybe not an alternative site, but an alternative perspective. Instead of looking at all items on lemmy, try finding and subscribing to communities that pique your interest, then viewing by subscribed communities.

I know it's not what you were specifically asking for, and it's a little more work than just sliding into another site, but it will give you the opportunity to weed out information you are not interested in.

  • Pretty sure these tools are often seeded with prompts that enforce diversity. Bing does the same or similar. I'm more amused by this, as the process isn't aware and can't actively enable or disable these settings.

To actively fit a historical prompt, it would need to not only consider images from the period, but also properly synthesize historical data to go with the prompt.

  • This! Is not! DRY!
  • My dampness sensors went south a long time ago. Cleaned the whole thing out and everything. I'm also at least the second owner. The contacts in the load selection knob also had worn away from use and I had to repair them. I'll be happy to get another three to five years out of it.

I just use the timed dry now and send slightly smaller loads through. It's much more efficient.

  • How do you clean your physical game controller?
  • I would use a damp wrung-out rag with just a tiny bit of soap in it too wipe it down. I might come back with clean water, still wrung-out.

Wooden toothpicks are great for the cracks because they are softer than the plastic.

I would save the IPA on a swab for any electric contacts, assuming you have removed batteries. If you can't remove the batteries, I would wait until you are having physical connection issues or have spilled something on it.

Also, almost all those words to describe these soldiers were no no words, so I had to be creative.

Is fargo season 5 worth watching ?
  • Only if you enjoy watching it. I enjoyed it.

Topics include religious abuse, wealth inequality, domestic abuse, and rape.

Sovereign citizens are the enemy, and there are wide swings taken at the Trump party.

    FOSS In government use

My question in FOSS is whether, or how the license applies, if anyone can clarify it for me. I'm not going into a legal battle, I just am having issues rectifying the licensing with my expectations.

Also, ia most FOSS is written this way, with an expectation that organizations have to pay for licensing to use the software?

The issue below is for AGPL and PDFCreator. AGPL, if I read it correctly, seems to restrict restrictions on the license.

I work as MSP for an entity who uses PDFCreator, quite possibly based on a previous license.

I can't otherwise explain the use or make changes myself, other than it is used as a PDF printer on user desktops to create digital documents.

What I can say is that we had recently attempted to automate the process of installing it with new computers. We ran into a minor hiccup and contacted their support for assistance. The response was that the program is not intended for free use in a corporate environment and that we will need to purchase licenses.

While I take issue with their determination and restriction of the use, it is their software and they make the rules. I'm not sure if they are violating the GPL, but I'd like some understanding if anything has a different interpretation.

We will most likely just use the built in PDF creator. A loss for the FOSS footprint, but not something I can control.
