  • you don't have to imagine. their propaganda posters should genuinely be thought of as being memes. every poster is a meme that the people gluing up hope will influence the general sentiment of the people around them. internet memes are not truly new. there are merely the most common form of propaganda detritus in our current age. in the 20s-90s, this was the poster and the street tag

  • oh MAGA parody account. you were who i missed most of all on lemmy during my vacation away from technology

  • fascism wears many hats. these tankie motherfuckers wear the bolshevik-fascism hat. they don't understand that we can take a stock character given to us by a corporation, like barbie, and run with it as an aspect of remix culture because they are domination culture colonisers who cosplay as anti-imperialists. they are just as dangerous and nonsensical as ancaps.

good for you for knowing enough about who you are and what you're about to stay strong in "this isn't about the corporation but the stock character"

  • samesies. it's grifters leading the blind in that field and it's already had devastating effects in certain areas

  • i discovered i have several community bans for being an anti-ai troll. i find that so odd because like… i'm not trolling, i genuinely have concerns about a litany of issues surrounding ai such as the environmental cost, the double standard of corporate theft being okay and piracy being a serious crime, the ways the ai corporation ceos want to use ai vs how any technology should benefit the populace. i have a viewpoint, not an agenda. i also think and post about a wide variety of other topics. that said, if an ai community wants to block me, that's fine, i was probably going to block them too. not because i think they're wrong to have their community, but because i have zero interest in engaging there. it's like how i block all communities in languages i don't speak. it's not an act of me censoring or hating them. it's just me cleaning up my feed because it doesn't make sense to be there

  • whole world gotta get used to that 47 represents imperial dimensia and all that means

  • in any given population 15% will believe they've encountered a wolfman. i'll try to find you the info, but basically it's about how when sampling data for what a collective believes you'll always find some absolute kooks

  • i think it more means "the problem isn't this iteration, it's the core original sin of what civilization actually is compared to what we're taught it is in elementary school"

  • welcome to the wolfman constant. always assume any polling data over ~65% is an overwhelming majority and that ~75% or more effectively indicates "everyone with a functioning brain"

then think about that 95% of black women voted against this

  • chuck schumer is a vile and hubris filled man. he is the embodiment of all that Jewish people for millennia have resisted and fought against. my Jewish kindergarten teacher (southern Galitzyen Jew, just like schumer's ancestors) was very adamant that any evil ethnostate is anti-jewish by nature, and that includes israel. the point of the dietary restrictions, the holidays remembering dire times, and all of the stories about the history of the people is to build an understanding that domination cultures are bad and that a good Jew should resist them. even the common way of tracking "jewishness comes from your mother" is a point of resistance against a largely patriarchal hegemonic society (and also emphasizes food as what makes a people a people).

chuck schumer is not a good Jew and he does not represent what it means to be Jewish. you want a good Jew at a high level in politics? look at Claudia Sheinbaum and what she's up to. you wanna know what state most accurately reflects the Jewish identity in 2025? it ain't the one that's telling you it's Jewish. it's Mexico. because the point of being a good Jew isn't to be vocal in your Jewishness, but to be a good person first: kind, gentle, compassionate, patient, and strong.

  • i don't think this other commenter was calling you out. i think they were just bringing up a point of discussion that's relevant to the point you brought up

  • antisemitism: jews have no place in this society

zionism: jews have no place in this society

hopefully this helps people see the problem with labeling anti-zionism as antisemitism

  • forking doesn't really help with the underlying problem that docker is a layer to run on top of Linux's KVM. at a certain point though, it's become standard enough though that BSD not having a good way to support docker, or any other CRI containerization service for that matter, is a BSD failure, not a containerization failure

  • i was in a math class once where a physics major treated a particular variable as one because at csmic scale the value of the variable basically doesn't matter. the math professor both was and wasn't amused

  • there's also an element of sunk cost fallacy. they don't want to let themselves be deprogrammed because they've invested so much in this. somewhere deep in their souls, a lot of them know they're in the wrong but they can't listen to that part of themselves because it's easier to keep going than to have the humility to say they were wrong.

if you've ever lost a friend to an MLM, this is the part where they double down on the MLM when it's going poorly because their upline convinces them the problem isn't the business model, but their friends and relations. the result is isolating.

this is the thing to understand about the political doctrine of isolationism, too. it's not about not interfering in other places (such as say… Iran), it's about threatening violence against all who would oppose efforts to build coalitions with the people the empire is oppressing. it's not about letting things play out, it's about intensifying control

  • states' rights to opress people was the full thought

  • here in the United States it generally means your underpants, but a lot of people in the northern appalachians will call any pants pantaloons

  • and it's been consistent with that Ukraine had to deal with a public health crisis related to not having enough therapists to help russian POWs navigate the trauma of receiving therapy and food instead of torture.
