  • They’re fake? I mean, he’ll just have some sycophant doc like that tool that pronounced him fully fit for his first presidency write down a bunch of BS to be released.

  • No, but it's certainly a big draw. People looking to the collection plate to buy absolution, buy better health, a better life, whatever…that already believe in magic are far more easily manipulated. Religion has always been attractive to charlatans, grifters, and even warmongers and hatreds. You an far more easily get people to hand you power and money with religion.

  • I like coconut water that bits of coconut in it. I do not like boba tea.

Texture preferences and dislikes are really weird differences between ASD peeps.

  • This is some juvenile grade deepfake revenge porn.

  • ChatGPT land this plane with the engine failed for me. ChatGPT do this triple bypass heat surgery for me.

I’m sure that people will come up with excuses why this is different than cheating on an essay, but the point is that if one can’t study for the basic shit then doing the hard shit is going to be even harder. It’s not flipping a switch and saying “ok now I’ll take it all seriously…”. Then again, someone shirking basic work skills is probably destined for a retail middle manager job and not someone headed for radiology.

  • Wait until we get to the “Yeah, we’re fascists…” part and they get rid of any pretenses at all.

  • Meh. There’s by far more mediocre bands with some fame than Coldplay. At least Coldplay isn’t one of the “hype” entertainers like Bieber that need constant press coverage to stay relevant or a band that will play anything and have no real sound of their own like OneRepublic.

  • That does suck, and I have never been with a union where that isn’t a possibility. That’s one of the downsides whether or not they’re management's tools. Top leadership tends to take care of itself first.

  • My union dues are 1.5%.

    But, my union:

Makes sure I don’t have to take my work home with me.

Says when it’s ok to be contacted by work at home.

Got us a nice pay raise that more than covers any dues.

Makes sure any training events are monitored, correctly administered and can’t be used to get rid of employees.

Provides additional insurance that make up for shortfalls in employer coverage - particularly disability.

Substance abuse and mental health help so that you can get help and not lose your job.

    And plenty more.

All of it worth more to the entire group than any pain from the dues I pay. Love being in a union shop, worth it even with the few downsides.

  • ~30% of the country really wanted to hurt other people because their lives were messed up, they weren’t rich, or they wanted to be richer.

  • Do you have any evidence that I won’t win a $60 million dollar lottery prize next week? I play the lottery occasionally…

  • The oath is a promise, not a law. People break promises all the time.

  • Wonder where all those people are? Immediately after the election for several months lemmy was full of people blaming how shitty things turned out on anyone but themselves. “It’s the Democrats fault I didn’t vote even though I know trump is a fascist POS!”

NOBODY thinks the dems are great. They’re fucked up.

But they’re not Alligator Auschwitz fucked up. They’re not screw the country with tariffs fucked up. They’re not ICE Gestapo fucked up.

But that’s not the non-voters fault because this is better than some neo-lib winning.

  • This happens throughout human history. Repeatedly funneling wealth and power to a few, the system collapses, start all over again. Doesn’t matter if it’s kings or corporations. Must be a genetic component to it, we can’t seem to help ourselves.

  • Absolutely not. Anonymity is power and lack of consequences. That’s what the masks are for.

  • No questions, but a suggestion: take your pain meds before it starts hurting. I’ve had some surgery in the past and waiting until it hurts is too late. Yeah, the “cabin fever” sucks, and wait until you have to put a seatbelt on!

Good luck, hope you have a speedy recovery!

  • I think most of us late diagnosed peeps probably have a lot of frustration over our past. Not necessarily suffering from other people’s lack of understanding or whatever abuses we received (though there’s no way those aren’t upsetting); but the fact that, had we gotten treatment and the knowledge of what the issues were in a timely manner, we could have accomplished more. Moved forward in life and career and not had to struggle so much with personal failures, anxiety, etc.

I don’t know why I am the way I am and don’t understand why I can’t get shit done and why are people always mad at me and why don’t I have friends and why can’t I just be left to do what I want and why do I hate parties with crowds and small talk and why can’t I just stick with something until I’m good at it…on and on…

We can deal with maybe a shitty childhood, but we can never get the time back that was lost due to inability to perform the tasks society expects of everyone to “keep up with the pack.” Like finish a degree, advance in the workplace, look for a better job, etc.

As much as I’d love to cheer on the abilities Au/DHD do get, like quick problem solving skills, creativity, jack-of-all-trades knowledge, pragmatically we live in a society that isn’t going to bend to accommodate us.

  • I think I’ve only ever met 2 furries in my entire life. I don’t know where this person is that furries are so common. Then again, I’m not a nuclear engineer. Maybe radiation attracts furries?
