What are you playing this week? April 15 2024 Edition
  • Dragon's Dogma 2 - A very unique RPG. The new combat is a lot of fun.

Cod MW3 Zombies - Very few games master the smoothness of shooting like CoD. The gameplay loop is quite addictive. Cons - micro transactions and the tweaking required to get it stable on Steam.

  • Did you ever buy that toy you wanted as a kid but didn't get?
  • I had a Commodore 64 as a kid but we couldn't afford the disk drive (it was as much as the computer). I had to settle for a cassette drive. About 15 years later, I was at a garage sale and saw a C64 with disk drive but no cords. I asked the seller if it still worked. He said "For a dollar, does it matter?". Still have them.

  • Detroit Become Human caught me by surprise
  • I've played and enjoyed most of the Quantic Dream games. This is the one where it feels like they finally perfected the formula. Thanks for the reminder - I need to put this on my replay list.

  • 🔧 Baldurs Gate 3: Dramatically increase performance / FPS with any setup! *BEST SETTINGS* 📈✅

I'm not affiliated with this YouTuber, but I thought this might be useful to someone else. I have a RTX 3080/Ryzen 5800x/32 GB machine and was hovering around 30-40 FPS even after turning a lot of settings down. I think I just haven't kept up with the best combination of settings. This video got me up to an average of 70-80 FPS (except for in denser areas, where it can drop to 45).

Daikatana should've been a slam dunk, with a superstar lead designer, unlimited budget, and a talented team ready to blow the gaming world away. But internal strife led to a lackluster final product. Here's what happened.
