  • Strangely enough I can think of an example where this was the case. One of a nearby city's regular DQSH protestors was given a bail condition to not enter libraries after he flashed a librarian to "demonstrate what the degenerates are doing to our kids".

  • I've used Arch for 10 years as a primary desktop (well, Artix for the last 4) and barely had it bork on me. When is has, I've been able to boot it from grub in single user mode, mount my LUKS root drive, and downgrade whatever broke.

SteamOS has been fine for me on the SteamDeck.

I tried Bazzite for about a month then one day networking just broke and the documentation just wasn't there.

  • I recently had someone I already had tagged as "racist" replying to me with some misogyny, clicked on his profile and found him defending the R slur. Because instances are smaller, it's actually feasible to message instance admins when there is someone like that too.

  • Ultimately it still holds an issue of consent. Some people who are very politically active still want spaces to switch off, especially when truama is common among activists due to cops being violent bastards who constantly SA protestors.

  • Also like, nerd man culture is dominated by a particularly nasty form of misogyny so its a net gain for society anyway. Take a look at examples of your stereotypical nerd in pop culture for an example e.g. The Big Bang Theory where their misogyny is played off as ultimately harmless or more infamously Revenge of the Nerds. In the real world we have examples like James Damore who wrote the manifesto that complained about women working in tech.

Trans people have always existed and plenty are nerds, just as plenty are goths with how transphobes often say "where did all the goths go?"
