That's fair piracy probably is safer than most people have you believe.

I still wouldn't go for any VPN that clearly logs stuff that can be traced back to me, that would defeat most of the purpose (unless it's one for accessing machines in my home network).

Also if you're downloading it first I don't really see the relevance of speed, just do it the day before.

Hmmm my parents always woke me up way too early I got ready and waited for them to do their stuff last minute (though for important things they usually planned ahead a little more) we were often late and it was my fault for not being ready (having my shoes on 10 minutes before we leave).

Parents are clearly just hypocrites.

I too am out of the loop but why not use tor? The VPN companies can still trace it back to you if what you did turned out to be illegal.

That just displays the command or is there a browser extension that runs it for you too? Most Windows apps certainly don't run by just clicking a button either.

The table that does it that way is a complete mess but I guess it was a good idea and got some things right.

They first started doing it with valence shells in 1864, Mendeleev had a pretty close one based on atomic weights in 1871 and correctly predicted that there were missing elements based on valences + weights. The atomic numbers which determine the valences appear to have been discovered about 40 years later.

I don't use em dashes but I do use punctuation (apparently some people find that passive aggressive and I don't what to do). When someone else uses punctuation I just ignore it unless it doesn't match their previous messages.

Wait how do you install flatpaks? I add the remote (if necessary) and then install it from there. That is nothing like I have ever seen on Windows (though apparently there are package managers).

I think that parts of your statement are likely correct but I doubt a lot of it. The comment you replied to was correct though it is likely more nuanced. That is where your point could play in (which is what enables much exaggeration used by opponents) but your examples show me that you are quite biased (not that I am not) and not necessarily part of those who would be willing to listen to the whole thing.

Huh? It's sorted by number of electrons/protons (atomic number) the mass is dependent on that and the number of neutrons.

The eight main groups are based on the number of electrons missing for the atom to reach a full valence shell. Once it is full (8th group, noble gasses) it starts a new Period (row). I'm not sure how the other groups are chosen (probably some quantum physics that I never had in chemistry class). After looking it up Wikipedia says it just keeps going that way.

Electronegativity describes how much it "wants" to attract negative charges and doesn't affect the order (Flourine has the highest and is in group 7). I think you may have confused it with ionization energy which would certainly match my understanding of the top half of the periodic table and probably does work for the lower half too now that I think about it.

The groups tend to have similar properties but that is not why they are sorted that way. Hydrogen for example is quite different from other elements in group one. The colours are probably better for finding common properties.

I think providing human rights to it's citizens is definitely more important, not sure if it is necessarily the primary one though.

Yup, checked a few days ago, it most certainly is.

The fix that @who@feddit.org (installing the game-devices-udev package) fixed it for me without having to switch to the version of steam from my native package manager. Thanks for the idea though, I had been considering trying it before but in the past the graphics drivers seemed to work better for me when using the flatpak version.

Okay wow, I had no idea that package existed and I haven't seen any mentions of it before. Installing it from the AUR actually fixed it for me. (LEGO lotr seems to work at least)

Thank you for that tip, can't believe the solution is so simple, lol. (I have already spent multiple hours trying to fix it)

I have only ever used the controller in it's wired mode since it's easier and I never play from more than 5m away from my computer.

Would you mind explaining how this fixes it? I have never looked into udev rules.
