  • As I got older I eventually found "my people". Friends who I click with, who I share values and interests with, who communicate similarly to me.

As someone who struggles like OP, how did you find "your people?"

  • One big plus for Discord is that you can essentially lock it down to people who are interested in your project, instead of the entire public to browse. This hurts searching for answers, but helps immensely for projects that can be taken down like romhacks and speed running tools for example

  • I've never heard of Medium, so let me get this straight. You're giving them content AND paying them? That's like going to work and paying your boss.

If that's true and you're struggling to get food at the same time, there are some serious issues going on and you should reconsider what you spend your time and energy on

  • The whole reason RaPi got so big was its price point, because it offered so much capability that was essentially disposable in case the worst happened to your project. As long as it costs more than $35 I will not be interested.

  • How did people not lose money during the pandemic, besides being stupid rich? The one piddly payment and unemployment I got from being laid off was way less than my normal earnings, so the cost to survive had to eat into savings and go onto credit cards. I still haven't recovered.
