  • I don't disagree, but still better than all the other leaders the country had.

The following dictatorship put up a lot of antimonarchist propaganda, but still today abolishing slavery is celebrated by all as an achievement of his government.

    (Note: I'm not a monarchist)

  • In Brazil the monarchists get some sympathy because emperor Pedro II was the only competent and halfway decent leader the country ever had.

  • It's an ideal to be worked towards.

  • Feijoada

  • Brazil is also doing this. My wife is a teacher and said that the kids are much less agitated and anxious this year.

  • Well, Iberia, Frnce, Deutschland, and Poland already look like a bunch of boxes side by side.

  • Yes, certainly!

But I think there's a difference between corrupt hypocrites not practicing a "reasonable" theology, and a corrupt theology supporting a corrupt practice.

There are those that care, but the nature of actually following it means doing it quietly and without seeking recognition.

  • Heresy then?
It's a biblical interpretation framework based on giving theological significance to the order of the books in the Bible, ignoring previous history of theology and history of the formation of the Bible.
Theology is one the oldest sciences, it has Method; Dispensationalism throws it away and does it's own thing.

  • Just to note: these books are heavily based on dispensationalist pseudo-theology.

But I agree that trump is an Antichrist

  • My favorite is "Inconsolata"

  • Cauliflower and broccoli have the same recipe: small pieces; steam for around 10 minutes; it's done when it starts getting soft.

Season as you like. I like with either just a bit of salt, or covered with butter fried breadcrumbs.

  • If I time traveled to the same geographical region, considering I'm in South Brazil, if I don't get immediately killed by some jungle animal or tropical disease, I'd probably end up starting a pandemic among the natives.

Well, the Christian faith is that He is alive right now, and also as God has omniscience.

  • One technique I've heard being used by Bible translators to learn new languages: show some curious/interesting object, you'll learn the phrase "what is this?", then start pointing at everything and repeating it.

  • Not exactly wrong. But parts of it are 3000 years old writings of 5000 years old stories, going in blind without historical and cultural contexts is recipe for disaster, even people that grew in church often have problems.

  • I feel some good starts could be Martin Luther's "Small Catechism" and "On Christian Liberty".

Edit: maybe a bible studies group of an historical church (Lutheran, Presbyterian, Catholic, Orthodox, etc. )

  • They lived in an arid region and used sandals, at the end of the day their feet would be very dusty.
The disciples at that point still expected Jesus to be a political king to free the Jews from the Roman Empire by force; Jesus did the slave job of washing feet to show them that in His upside-down "kingdom", the king is slave to all, and likewise how His followers should act.
