No, they had to divide the case in two because some activity happened in DC, and some ar Mar-A-Lago. Future Supreme Court Justice Cannon is currently a judge in the district that includes Mar-a-Lago. So they knew that they had a chance of getting her when they filed the charges, but the selection was random.
The RNG owed us big time after it gave that one Trump case to Aileen Cannon
There is some context missing here. Other posters have pointed out some things, but what I want to point out is that there are several states where the GOP is actively fucking with the voter rolls. It is very easy for someone's voter registration to be "challenged" for bullshit reasons, and often these challenges are made strategically to target likely Democratic voters in poor places, who may not have the spare cash to get the additional RealID proof that this EO demands.
So, even though it might seem reasonable on its face, in combination with other GOP priorities it's obvious that the end goal is to harass poor voters.
Everyone who is not part of the GOP's demographic needs to get a passport card ASAP. It is RealID compliant, and only $30. Yeah, it sucks that you are being forced to do that, but everyone should go and do it now, before it gets DOGEd....
Be careful what you wish for, we may end up getting all US government payments made in $TRUMP, via X.
They should just start calling themselves "Four Eyes" just so Trump fixated on calling them "nerds"....
Not really, either way the Broligarchs own the government. We might make them buy slightly less shitty politicians, but that doesn't count for much.
My heart pumps purple piss for them.
I admire your commitment to the cause, but you really should get that checked out....
They want dumb, incompetent people making terrible decisions. This is all part of the plan.
Yes, and the more incompetent, the better. But their incompetence has a purpose. They want to give absolute bullshit justifications for their dumb actions, as a loyalty test. Those who swallow them whole and ask for more get promoted, those who apply logic and resist get impeached/primaried/pushed out by any means necessary.
To me, it is likely that Waltz intended to invite a different JG, and fat-fingered it. So, if a journalist is looking for a big scoop, I guess they should change their name to Victor Palmer, or Vanessa Potter, and work their way into Trump's DMs?
The actual backstory on this (referenced in the article) is even more absurd.
That spot which is supposed to have Trump's picture was empty for quite a while because they were having trouble raising money for it. But then someone smuggled in a literal picture of Putin and hung it in its place. Colorado Republicans had no trouble raising the money after that.
The flight crew were still being assholes, though. They could have handled it differently than not believing the woman when she asserted that her son needed the equipment, and produced the proper paperwork.
I fly a lot and know that many planes these days are full, but they absolutely could have reseated them without getting confrontational with the woman. Simply asking for volunteers, and saying "we can't take off until this happens", will get results.
It could have been a bulkhead seat, too. That's the only other place where there are stricter regulations.
Yes. United's reservation agents screwed up big time. The lady did everything she was supposed to. The crew could have solved this simply by asking for volunteers to exchange seats. Instead, they assumed that they knew more about the kid's'condition than his mother did.
I don't know about that. I bet they say the protestors were assaulting and terrorizing the poor car by getting in its way
Wait, Canadian Kit-Kats are different than American Kit-Kats?
You don't buy Tether as an investment, you buy it to enable you to more easily trade into other stuff.
Many non-US exchanges can't trade in actual dollars, because they don't meet the proper regulations to be connected to the US banking system. But since these Tethers exist, they can trade USDT, and pretend they represent actual dollars.
If you want to trade from one obscure shitcoin to another, that trading pair doesn't exist. But odds are good that both coins are traded with USDT, so you can do the trade in two transactions by going through USDT first.
We don't really know whether Tether is fully backed, though. As long as they meet their redemptions when people ask for USD in exchange for tether, it may not really matter. I suspect the biggest holders are exchanges, who will never redeem their tether for USD because they need to keep it in USDT for their trade liquidity.
I can't read the article.
The US government should not be involved in crypto at all. But if a "stablecoin" were to ever work, it would be one backed by a government, who can back it up not only with reserves, but with laws.
The irony, of course, is that the Cryptocurrency industry was born out of an inherent distrust of governments, and their fiat currency that only has value because the government says it does. But I anticipate today's CryptoBros will abandon all those principles if they can own some sweet US-backed TrumpBucks.
The White House continues to insist Musk’s views do not reflect Trump’s policy.
Doesn't that make Musk a domestic terrorist who needs to have his citizenship revoked and be sent to an El Salvadorian prison? At least, That's the Administration position when someone who is not a jizzilionaire expresses views that do not reflect Trump's policies....
You haven't noticed that most "far right anti establishment rhetoric" these days started with immature losers on 4chan?
