  • This person is not a leftist they're a liberal Zionist who we need to stay as far away from. This isn't a bad vibe, this is a confession of hatred.

    Death to the UK.

  • Written in English too.

White people love anarchism but hate communism for the same reasons why they love peaceful protests and hate armed resistance...

They love the lack of consequences and pretending to be heroic.

  • I think desktop icons are just a result of Windows being a shitty ad-ridden UI since 10. You can't use the start menu anymore because it's filled with Ads (start menu icons to corpo social media apps that aren't even installed) and shortcuts to bing search when you just want an app or file. Literally the only part of windows not covered in slop is your desktop screen.

GNOME Shell ripped out desktop icons (citing it as a design anti-pattern via reasons mentioned above) and KDE Plasma doesn't have them by default (and at least has the decency to have a "show desktop" button on taskbar) and both actually have usable start menus with no ads for candy crush (with both being easily replaceable).

  • Asking qwen3:8b about spelunky 2

    What is spelunky 2

Spelunky 2 is a roguelike platformer game developed by Giant Sparrow, the same studio behind the popular game Spelunky (the original). It was released in 2012 for PC, Mac, and Linux, and later ported to other platforms like PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. ... [output cut]

    Looking at wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spelunky_2)

Spelunky 2 is a 2020 platform video game developed by Mossmouth and BlitWorks and published by Mossmouth. It is the sequel to Spelunky (2008) and was released for PlayStation 4 and Windows in September 2020, for Nintendo Switch in August 2021, for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in January 2022, and for PlayStation 5 in March 2025. The game received critical acclaim upon release.

Anyway spelunky 2 is very hard that I quit since it was getting repetitive after a while (the game is really short and doesn't encourage experimentation imo).

  • Argentina ready to increase the child mortality rate even further to follow their colonial master.

  • I saw a french documentary where they sent this guy to Italy so he could learn how to make the good pizza and brought experts in to check.

It looked like some good ass Italian pizza. Too bad the frenchies were too busy pretending to care about peasants in the countryside to actually be normal and enjoy it. The one woman whose father was born the north was the most normal one, she actually enjoyed her time being there and didn't pretend to wax poetic about poverty.

It is really funny that liberals expect me to believe their genuine concern for the peasant class of Korea when their entire lives are subsidized by the Global South via imperialism.

  • Me calling migrants at the US-Mexico border "defectors" because I am definitely not racist and coddled

"I wonder why all these defectors are being deported?"

  • are actively perpetuating colonization and genocide rather than simply getting an advantage from their ancestors

USAmericans are also doing this too. The overconsumption done by yankees would require multiple planet earths if everyone were allowed to consume as much as they do and the US government is guilty of exporting a capitalist system that causes climate change, not to mention the imperialism abroad. There is no functional difference between the US and Israel, just "Big Satan" vs. "Little Satan."

  • I agree with your points entirely, it's just amusing to see the people who do disagree experience a tiny iota of the fear and despair that the indigenous peoples of America and beyond had to feel when their world was destroyed and stolen.

It is really telling that suddenly they fear for their lives once they think they will be victims of the same colonization that gave them privilege. They've internalized that this process only functions through mass slaughter and terror and start waxing poetic about "human nature"

  • They're gone so I can say that their site's CSS is ugly af. I never learned to appreciate how well Hexbear defaults work. I will never understand low-contrast zenburn themes.

    Some choice delights.

    1. I saw the hexbear communities constantly posting insane stuff like hoping Biden would die, or using “lib” as an insult, and I assumed they were a conservative instance.

    2. Hexbear - and lemmygrad.ml, and some users on Lemmy.ml - use the identical tactics of the Alt-Right, even while claiming to be leftists, so I have started calling them the Alt-Left. As in there are true leftist ideals (dbzero, slrpnk, etc.), and then there are those “alternative” leftist spaces that use alternative facts and forms of argumentation.

    3. trying to talk sense into anyone or de-escalate things is immediately met with “bootlicker”, wild accusations, and/or worse.

    4. hexbear losing its license (yes it got it back but it really and truly did LOSE it before that!)

    5. I’m as upset as anyone about the state of the world, but I’m a functional adult capable of expressing myself without every second comment being “guillotines, Luigi, violence, violence , revolution!”.

    6. [On Piefed] even auto-removing content by people with extraordinarily low reputation scores, and with the option to measure reputation within the specific community in question - e.g. someone cannot run up a high karma on hexbear and then come here and use that to troll piefed users.

  • What is this supposed to mean? How does software licensing relate to this? Anubis is a free program.

  • Copyleft is uncompromising by design.

Copyleft and open source has nothing to do with this. This is just a blogpost of them of why they dont use Anubis and their concerns.

  • A website using Anubis will respond to a request for a webpage with a free JavaScript program and not the page that was requested.

This is a legitimate critique though. Anubis requires the use of capital W Web Browsers (chromium, Firefox) in order to access the site. This effectively blocks users who A: dont want to run the computations of the JS program (which can't be circumvented due to the server side computing done) and B: users using web browsers without or with limited JS functionality that wouldn't meet the reqs of Anubis.

Anubis was created as an emergency stop valve on LLM scrapers, but I think having a solution which doesn't require Anubis is also valuable as well.

Malware is a terrible choice of words. Anubis isnt malware. It may provoke questions about the state of the Web but there's nothing malicious about protecting your digital infra when the vast majority of users browse with JS enabled and not doing so would take down your site or leave you with thousands of dollars in upkeep costs.

The FSF do give off the trot vibe and thank you for making that connection that I will never unsee. I think if they just posted what I wrote above they would get far less backlash.

  • Its because the technology being sold as your "forever personal assistant" is actually too expensive to use or maintain or isnt actually good for that purpose.

Ive never actually seen an AI success story, just benchmarks and contests. A lot of open source projects are rejecting ai generated contributions outright and there's a grifting culture of trying to get bug bounties with LLMs (notably with curl).

I think machine learning itself has useful applications and can be used by engineers in controlled settings, but silicon valley only understands hoarding and monopolizing anything possibly useful and selling it as a lifestyle brand. The issue is that people hate capitalism, not AI.

  • Comments of a french documentary about the DPRK in the Kim Jong Ill era.

When you're having a bad time in life simply watch this kind of documentary to make yourself remember how good of a life you have still compared to this.

Masses, Elites, and Rebels being proven more right and correct every waking day.

  • Doggo can come with you on 450 km/h train ride, but at what cost??? (The price of a hot dog in the US)

Now China’s high-speed trains allow passengers bring small dogs and cats. The pilot service has been expanded to cover 38 high-speed train services across 25 stations along 8 high-speed rail lines.

Image of train staff helping a rider with fitting their dog into the dog cage.

  • Its not even auto complete. I tried running qwen3:8b param model on ollama and it just felt so tiring having to cajole the program into producing the output I want.

Everything was very underwhelming and could be done better by a 15 year old human personal assistant who actually likes programming.

AI is the supposed bourgeois escape hatch for starving and mistreating workers when the reality of austerity hits them fast and no one is able to work.
