Honestly haven't looked too much... but I agree with you, I prefer to use my distro of choice and install any tools I'm going to use on top of that.

Yes I think so... as a matter of fact I use quemu from cli because virt-manager install a lot of deps, at least on Ubuntu.

According my experience the most difficult OS to Install are Alpine (No GUI anywere), FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD (*BSD because use a different partition system and installer), as a matter of fact all personalization applied by the link was done after install.
This is so crazy for me. I don't think all those articles take up much physical space, the FSF isn't bankrupt. Why did they do it? destroy RMS's legacy?
