What's ironic about that? Lemmy is for those fleeing reddit, bluesky for those fleeing twitter.

I know that's what drives me crazy too. As opposed to a lot of harmful conservative policies that are clearly motivated by a desire to look out for the interests of the wealthy or pander to xenophobes, the anti-vaxx stuff is just pure contagious madness.

We won't find out if this changed anything until Rupert is dead.

There's a big difference between meeting the criteria for being a war criminal and having an arrest warrant issued by the ICC.

The thing that's tougher to shrug off is that he now has a rotating list of countries where depending on who's in power he cannot visit without being arrested.

I think there's a lot of overlap between people interested in a reddit alternative and a twitter alternative. Or maybe as that guy below says it's just that I'm personally posting about it a lot.

Yeah too bad they didn't get into it earlier, but it has hit a critical mass of users and attention lately.

The reason people post on these sites is to make themselves heard I guess. You just have to ignore or block your way into the level of interaction you're comfortable with.

To be fair Musk buying twitter and turning it into a Nazi propaganda site was kind of flukey.

Interesting. As with any problematic group that makes the transition it's a bit annoying to have to deal with them on the new platform, but they shouldn't be banned and them moving is a great sign that bluesky has the juice.

Not every social media format is for everyone, no need to be hostile about it. I just can't bring myself to engage with TikTok and Reels and such, but other people really like them and why would that be a problem for me?
