  • See: https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-Buddy/issues/4254

I spent 3 months working with support, they replaced just about everything related, eventually sent me a whole new printer, and the new one had the exact same issue out of the box.

It starts too low consistently, so filament builds up constantly till it drops and ruins the print.

I can't print anything bigger than 20cm² without it dropping a giant blob somewhere in the print and ruining it..

Always perfect first layer is not real, and my experience is that they are distancing themselves from the promise they made when the mk4 was announced.

  • I use routines and exercise "streaks".

A 30min morning walk does wonders for my mental clarity and work drive.

Secret for me is to get a "streak" of contiguous days ive walked, and be really focussed on not losing the streak... Gets me up, out of bed, dressed and out for my walk.

    Everything is easier after that...

  • I've learned that if it is just the top speed that is slow, it's a replacement capacitor behind the light switch.

If all speeds are slow, it's the whole fan to be replaced.

(We live in a warm place, and fans run 24/7 in some of our rooms, so we go through this process at least yearly for at least one of our fans)

  • I had a 20+ Yr old car with a key fob that had broken, so it would stay on a key ring and wouldn't stay closed.

Wreckers wanted $700 for a new key fob case as I'd have to buy the whole second hand keyless entry system.

    A small 3d printer cost $650.

I bought the printer, then designed and printed my own key fob case, including replacing the worn out rubber buttons with some harvested out of an old kitchen timer.

No one was ever impressed or interested with the whole thing, so I figured this meets the criteria for inclusion here...

  • My step kids have never known me without a beard. They saw a photo of me clean shaven from about a year before I met their mother, and my stepdaughter looked at me, then the photo and said "Ew.. Gross... Never shave your beard..."

    Gotta love the honesty!!!

(I just choose to remember how much my stepdaughter LOVES my beard!! 🤪)

I turned the solar panels back on today

  • Congrats - it sure is a milestone....

I was diagnosed at 44yo, finally got to a psychiatrist who said to me: you're doing every single life hack/strategy we could possibly ask an ADHD sufferer to be doing to manage their symptoms... Did you want to try some medication?

I was like: "so that means, yes, I DO have ADHD?"

He just smiled and said: "yes, absolutely!"

I was so relieved to finally have some kind of answer I broke down on the spot, and had to defer the meds conversation till the next months appt as it was all too much at that point.

I'm 8-9 months in, and wish I'd been diagnosed 35 years ago!

My journey wasn't anything like yours, it only took 12 months once I decided to pursue it, but even I had to laugh when my GP gave me a list of a dozen psychiatrists and told me to call each one to see if they were taking referrals...

I looked at him and said: you're giving me a list of 12 things to do with no deadline so I can get diagnosed with ADHD... Isn't this a terrible idea?!
