I'm so relieved Aoi's dad actually is a whale researcher and not a whale ""researcher"". It would have been a weird twist but this show being willing to break the mold somewhat has me second guessing everything.

I don't know if I've seen another romance anime that managed to raise the tension this much after an accepted confession. Watching Ryuuji agonize over their relationship feels so much more engaging than all of the will-they-wont-they romcoms out there.

That's insane, if someone points a gun at you you are completely justified in shooting in self defense. Nobody is pointing a gun at the police without the intention of shooting because obviously the police aren't going to wait to see if they're just doing it as a joke.

I'm guilty of it too but most people living paycheck to paycheck could avoid it. Bottom thirdish is definitely stuck in the poverty trap but most could cut their expenses if they tried.
