Why even bother asking industry outlets about this? Clearly they will just keep on trying to paint the picture that they're people with rights and desires and not just replaceable entities serving at the behest of consumers, i.e. actual people.

Unfortunately, even if the Stop Killing Games movement eventually succeeds in creating some sort of policy changes, they will only apply in the EU (and potentially the UK, as well), so publishers and developers may still be able to permanently shut down games in other parts of the world.

Oh, I wouldn't worry about that. The whole world automatically benefits from regional legislation affecting global actors like international publishers. Just like the whole world benefitted from Europe enforcing GDPR compliance: Every reddit and Facebook user, not just Europeans, being able to download a data dump of their site activities isn't something that came about randomly.

Surely it's not "NATO" that provides any kind of military counterbalance in the Taiwan Strait in any sense of the word? European naval forces aren't really a regional player (and arguably not any kind of player).

So I guess what Rutte is really trying to do is to publicly state "I definitely believe a Russian attack on NATO would immediately draw every US aircraft carrier into the Baltic Sea! Would suck for Taiwan, but I defnitely believe in the dependability of all alliance members!" while sweating profusely.

As in: I approve of the concept. I hold this to be an acceptable way for modern countries to undermine each other if they desperately feel the need to. Economic pressure, back-room dealings, information campaigns... all much better than having hapless 19-year olds lob grenades at each other.
Not so keen if it's only done in addition to and not as a replacement for military buildup and sabrerattling though...

Weil ich zum Ausdruck bringen möchte, dass ich wenig Liebe zur Agrarflächennutzung für Tierfutter- und Kraftstoffgewinnung und damit wenig Liebe zum Raps habe - bestensfalls eine Arbeitsbeschaffungsmaßnahme für Landwirte und schlimmstenfalls eine gänzlich vermeidbare Überbewirtschaftung.

Selbst als Ackerbesitzer kann ich dir sagen: Agrarflächen sind wunderschöne Geldanlagen, aber keine sinnvolle Nutzung von Fläche. Eine größtenteils obsolete Berufsgruppe mag zu Recht über ihre eigene Obsoleszenz enttäuscht und erbost sein, und dass dir das Leid tut spricht für deine Empathie - aber Agrarpolitik kann man auf dieser Basis nicht machen. Es wird zu viel angebaut, lass mal weniger anbauen.

Dann geht die Diskussion über die Progression wieder los, bei der man dann wieder auf die magischen 65000€ brutto als Höchstsatz kommt. 65k sind nicht viel. 65k sind mehr als viele haben, weil die meisten in diesem Land bei solchen Diskussionen die Angeschissenen sind. Aber solange man da nicht mal an die wirklich Reichen geht, anstatt sich selbst zu zerfleischen, glaube ich, dass wir hier keine faire Kurve finden werden.

Ich denke, ich verstehe dich falsch, aber ich kann es mir nicht anders zusammenreimen - ich lese in diesen Sätzen: "Ich habe die Hoffnung auf eine faire Lösung für dieses oder ähnliche Probleme grundsätzlich aufgegeben".
Ich meine... wenn man inhärent unfaire Dinge wie Höchstsätze à la Spitzensteuersätze oder Beitragsbemessungsgrenzen überhaupt zulässt, kommt am Ende natürlich nie eine "faire Kurve" raus.

Jedes Jahr feilschen Bund und Länder über die Zukunft des Deutschlandtickets. Stattdessen sollten der Preis sowie die Zuschüsse der Politik mit der Inflation steigen. Das wäre einfach und fair.

Einfach und fair wäre, alle Bundesbürger einen jährlichen einkommensabhängigen ÖPNV-Beitrag zahlen zu lassen und dann sämtliche öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel als Mobilitäts-Grundversorgung allen Bundesbürgern kostenlos zur Verfügung zu stellen...

There are lots of traditional crafts channels from all the corners of the world, if that scratches your itch. How about something like this?

On windows at least, Arma 3 uses battleye which is absolutely kernel level anticheat. It may be different on a Linux install, but I wouldn’t expect it.

Off the top of my head: Anything Valve (CS2, Dota 2, Deadlock, TF2), the entire Civilization series and Arma 3. Last time I played them Starcraft, Overwatch 2 and Valorant worked fine as well, though it has been a while and I don't know if they've gone the way of Apex Legends since then.

There is no "dilemma" here. There is no solution or compromise to be found here. Kernel level anti-cheat systems are simply not needed. While the games the tout them figure that out I'll simply play all the other ones that already have figured it out.

Ich habe Disco Elysium durchgespielt. Bin blind in das Spiel gegangen und hatte eigentlich ein traditionelles Rollenspiel erwartet, es war dann aber eher eine Art point-and-click-Adventure. Ist vielleicht auch einfach eines dieser Spiele, die man nicht gut in Schubladen einordnen kann, aber ich bereue meine Zeit darin nicht - da ist ganz klar viel Liebe und Sorgfalt reingeflossen und das weiß ich zu schätzen.
Jetzt fange ich ersteinmal wieder mit einem Nordland-Trilogie playthrough an, der letzte liegt schon wieder zehn Jahre zurück. Vielleicht diesmal als Solo-Magier...
