  • Thanks for answering your own question, this is useful information.

  • I like the dashes, they make the options look like options to me.

  • I understand and sympathize with Rob on a spiritual level.

  • I'm glad to see lab-grown meat clear another hurdle. The better and more common this technology is, the closer we'll be to finally getting rid of the meat industry and factory farming.

  • The answer is in the tens of millions but no one really knows beyond that. The Chinese population wasn't well known at the time and the records from that era are poor at best. However, the Chinese government acknowledges that there were serious consequences to the economy and population during the great leap forward (here's their English writings on it) and as Wikipedia states, a 3.5% death toll would have caused tens of millions of deaths and be considered a modest famine. Some of the Western estimates are vast exaggerations, but the majority of them (especially modern day) are reasonable.

  • It feels like it, but surprisingly enough this is reality. They say truth is often stranger than fiction, and I think the past decade has demonstrated that to everyone.

  • For those wondering, the petition is to keep the resorts open by changing certain elements of how they work. I really like this bot, but sometimes it cuts too much out of its summaries.

  • I'm completely with you, on my computer I'm very productive but on my phone I can't do anything work-related.

  • They really are the worst. You'd think a wiki site could place their ads tastefully, but clearly not with Fandom.

  • Good for them. It's about time the workers of America get what they deserve, rewarding jobs and a living wage.

  • The amount of E-Waste our society generates is truly abhorrent. It will take hundreds of thousands of hours and countless amounts of money for future generations to fix this.

  • This is extremely promising. If this "reverse vaccine" is brought to market and holds up in effectiveness, it could usher in a new era of health, this could spell the end of autoimmune disorders, allergies, and other negative immune responses.

  • The penalties for these crimes should be higher than fines. They should involve prison time at the very least, destroying our planet is not something people should get off scot-free for.

  • This app has become one of the most polished and well-made Lemmy apps. Thank you for your hard work and for making Lemmy a better community, and thank you for updating your API calls so that I can use this app with the newest versions of the Lemmy backend.

  • UK Labour should take this as a grave warning and change course immediately.

  • I suppose spez did say he looked up to Elon. I wonder when he'll install an illegal "Reddit" sign on the roof of his HQ?

  • It's because conspiracism and anti-democratic sentiments have rooted deeply into the Republican party, and for as long as they remain Trump and candidates like him will remain popular.
